I hung my purse on the coat rack and made my way over to my couch. If someone were to tell me that acting would be this physically exhausting, I just might have chosen another profession. I collapsed onto my couch with a huff and sprawled my body out across it.

I heard the vibration of my phone from my purse and groaned. I pushed myself up and made my way over to my coat rack. Hoping that it wasn't someone that would make me leave the comfort of my home, I pulled my phone out and checked my screen. Daniel was calling.

I groaned, "Yeah." I asked with a hoarse voice.

"Heyy, Macyyy." His excited tone made me glance at the clock, which glowed in green lights 11:48pm. I ran my empty hand down my face and sighed. "You there?"

"I'm here."

"Look, I know you've had a stressful week." He replied. That's an understatement, I thought. "How about you come out with me — um, us — tonight? Just a couple of friends having fun. Whaddya say?"

"Say yes, Girl!" I heard Claire's voice from Daniel's side of the call.

"When?"

"I'll be there to pick you up in a few minutes, if you're down." I could practically hear the smile on Daniel's face, which caused a smile to appear on mine.

I pondered the thought for a moment. I could use the break to just let loose. I haven't been stress–free in a long time. I bit my lip to suppress the fact that my grin was growing wider. "I'm in."

"Macy!" I heard my name in an echo as I tossed another shot down my throat, feeling it burn slightly. Squinting due to the bright lights and flinching at my sudden sensitivity to loud noises, I tried to sort out who's voice was calling for me. "Macy!" A hand touched my shoulder, causing me to jump slightly and suck in a breath. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." I turned slightly and saw Charles smiling widely at me.

"Damnit, Charles." I let out a laugh, placing my hands over my face. "You scared the shut out of me."

"You look like you could use a drink." Charles laughed.

"Already on it. I've had like, what, five shots." I looked down at my hands as I attempted to count to five on my fingers.

"And you're still standing? Girl, no way." He shook his head and helped me down from my bar stool. The second I stood, I collapsed into his hold. "I got you." He whispered, placing my arm around his shoulders.

"No, my friend, I got you." I pointed at him while narrowing my eyes.

He laughed, "Yeah, okay." He walked slowly, holding all of my weight. His arm was snakes around my waist as he attempted to steady the two of us whilst walking.

"Charles?" A familiar voice rang in my ears as I groaned, forcing my hands to my temples as I doubled over. "Sorry, Mace." The voice sympathized. "Why don't I get you home, huh?"

"Please." I grinned wildly at the handsome man before me. He chuckled slightly.

"Thanks, Dan." Charles mumbled. Daniel knelt down beside me and helped me back to my feet.

"Let's get you home, sweetheart." Dan whispered while helping me out of the bar.

"Okay, here we are." Dan said, pulling into the parking lot of my apartment complex. He looked over to me with his arm resting on the head of my seat. "Can I trust you to get inside safely?" He asked with raised eyebrows.

"I think I can handle a few stairs, Mom." I teased, grinning as I made an attempt to push the car door open. Daniel managed a laugh while shaking his head. He opened his door and walked around the car, pulling my door open.

"Let's go, Mace." He extended his elbow out as I wrapped my arm around it. He pushed my door closed and walked me to the entrance of my apartment building. "How many drinks have you had?" He asked as he held the door open. I walked passed him and shrugged. "Okay." He sighed, placing his hand on the small of my back as he guided me to the elevator. I stopped before we got the doors, and he looked back at me with raised eyebrows. "What are you doing?"

"These damn things hurt." I groaned, pulling at the heels on my feet.

"Then why did you wear them?" He asked, holding out his arms. I huffed and held my shoes in my hands.

"Because I look hot in them." I slurred with the roll of my neck. Daniel chuckled and held out his arm as I met him at his side. He returned his hand to the small of my back and pressed the button for the elevator.

"Can't argue with you there." He mumbled breathily as he inhaled. He guided me into the elevator after the doors opened and pressed the button for the fourth floor. I leaned back against the wall for support, and he looked back at me as I slid down the wall. "Don't tell me you're an emotional drunk."

I looked up at him with furrowed eyebrows, "I'm not. I just —" Hiccup. "—I'm not used to being this —" Hiccup. "—hot mess." I shrugged.

"I'll tell you what." Dan held out his hand to me as the elevator stopped on my floor. "You still look damn good." He smirked down at me. I grinned up at him and placed my hand in his. He pulled me up and led me out of the elevator. He took my down the hall to my apartment and turned to me. "Key?"

"Under the mat." I gestured lazily. He rolled his eyes playfully and knelt down next to the mat. He pulled out the key and unlocked the door.

"Let's get you inside." He took my heels from my hand and let me inside. I stumbled towards the door the my bedroom with Daniel behind me. He stood in my doorway as I struggled to get to my bed.

I took the side of my dress and started to tug on it. "Woah, Sweetheart." He held his hands in front of his eyes. "I'll step out."

"No, it's fine." I shrugged. He closed the door as he left the doorway. I stripped down and tossed a baggy T-shirt on. "Danny!" I called to him as I flopped lazily onto my bed.

"Yes?" He opened the door and looked in.

"Will you lay with me?" I asked, tucking myself under my comforter. I looked up to Dan, who was standing in the doorway, a dumbfounded look on his face.

"Pardon?"

"Come here." I patted the empty space beside me.

"I can't. You're drunk."

"We're not doing anything." I raised my eyebrows.

"Are you sure?" He asked, eyebrows furrowed. I nodded. He nodded back and entered my room. He came around the bed and lay himself in the empty space beside me. I turned around and faced him. He smiled warmly at me. "Is this alright?" He whispered, his face barely inches from mine. I licked my bottom lip while nodding slightly. "Alright." He lay back on the pillow, and I moved to lay against him, resting my head on his shoulder, smiling to myself as I comfortable.

"Dan?" I whispered as I felt his fingers run through my hair.

"Hm?"

"Thank you." I pulled the blanket up a bit while looking up slightly to see his face. He looked down at me.

"For what?"

"For being so nice to me." He nodded.

"Of course." His voice was soft, making my eyes grow heavier. "Good night, Macy."
