The young siren sat in his usual spot among sharp rocks. He let out a puff of air, feeling expecially bored today. He had been told a thousand times to stay away from the surface but doesn't understand why, no one ever does anything. They're too scared of the rocks he hangs out near to do anything but look. He boy let his vivid blue eyes close. Nothing ever happens. He couldn't help but feel like he is being punished. He always hated silence and ever since that day that's his world, never ending silence.
-Let's rewind-
A young(er) Dipper and his twin sister Mabel, both 7 years old, were playing hide n seek. It was Mabel's turn to seek so the small male swam around for a good spot, he figured he's always found because of how his tail shines is despite being told more times than he could count do not go in that cave. what did he do? He swam right on in. He found himself a hiding spot and couldn't help but feel giddy, thinking it will take Mabel forever to find him. It wasn't Mabel that found him though. It was the creature that dwelled in that forbidden cave. The siren screamed louder than he had ever screamed before and did his best to escape but not without injury. The last thing dipper had actually heard was the creature roaring before it ripped off most of his fins that reside on the sides of his face. (FYI in this story they cannot hear any sounds at all without those)
-back to the present-
The siren let his mind wonder that was until some waves splashed in his face, Dipper opened his eyes to see a ship drawing near, the vessel causing waves to appear in the unusually calm water. He stared for a minute before deciding to go ahead and leave, if they came here to see him then they've just missed him.. Or so he thought. The siren dived into the water, slowly descending as he moved away from the rocks as he was a little ways away he noticed he couldn't move and.. It felt as if there was something stuck on his tail but that can't be right. it was. There was a fishing net that his tail got stuck on. He didn't panic until it started going up. First he tried swimming away but that wasn't working then he tried thrashing around but that only got him more stuck, finally as he was reaching the surface he starting chewing on the net with his razor sharp teeth he broke one price of rope it it was too late. before he could start on another he was pulled from the water, hanging upsidedown over the boat he has seen only moments ago.
He noticed a bunch of two-tails starting to gather around beneath him, by the looks on their faces it seemed to he a mixture of yelling and cheering. The siren let out a long puff of air when this one two-tail approached, the siren thought he looked better than all the others if what he had on his tails and top was compared to the others you could say he was surrounded by two-tails wearing seaweed while the yellow haired two-tail wore a royal cloak. Dipper noticed his golden eyes and that from the look of it he is trying to speak with him. Dipper thought if I weren't upside down I could at least read his lips. When he opened his mouth to try and communicate immediately the crew mates shoved a rag in his mouth. with more cheering the crew lowered the net though before taking the siren out of it, at the captain's command they tied his hands behind his back. At this point, being in the sun with no water Dipper's scales were starting to get dry, one even fell off. The captain yelled at his crew and the siren was thrown into a barrel of water, just big enough for the siren to lay under the surface is he curled up.
