"How?" Kayla asked, incredulous. I thought about it and sighed. Yes, the doors were locked and we would be killed if we tried.
"Soon." I told her. "Just act."
We walked up from the corner and I winked at Kayla. She smiled back and I went up to Caul.
"What do you want from me?" I asked him. Caul smiled evilly and held me by the scruff of my neck.
"What? I don't just want you, I want multiple people. Ever heard of the Elements of Life?"
I breathed heavily and suddenly, I knew his plan. There were four Elements of Life. Air, Earth, Fire and Water. Or Emma, Fiona, Olive and I. Caul watched me think and then gave up waiting. He slapped me on the head and I fell over in surprise. He grabbed a rope and advanced for Emma. I closed my eyes and heard a scream. Emma's scream.
With a cacophony of voices later, Emma, Fiona, Olive joined Kayla and I in a back of a wagon. Fiona huddled up into Emma's arms with Olive watching them intently. Kayla sat in the corner, asleep and I looked them all.
"What's going to happen to us?" Fiona muttered. She looked so scared and fragile. Her eyes welled on the edge of tears. Emma pressed Fiona closer towards her and petted Fiona's hair.
"I won't let anyone touch you. I won't let you die." Emma said, bravely, thought Here was worry in her voice. Olive brushed up closer to them and hugged Fiona as well. "We are both here for you."
For the first time since I had got here, I felt out of place. I didn't know them like they knew each other and it was extremely awkward sitting there, watching them exchange their last breaths.
"I don't want to die." Fiona moaned then burst into tears. Her face turned a bright pink and Emma muffled her cries in her jacket. I coughed slightly, trying to get their attention. They looked at me.
"I can get out of here." I said.
"How?"
"Olive, I need your help." I whispered words into her ears. Olive looked worried but nodded. I shook Kayla awake and drifted my eyes towards Olive's.
It was time. Then, the wagon burst into flames.
