A tall dark haired boy went to visit his grandparents on the edge of the dark woods for the summer. He went to walk in the woods countless times during the day. Upon a moonless night he kept tossing and turning in his bed. He glanced at the clock at his bedside 23:50 he read. His grandparents were already fast asleep. He quickly slipped on his boots and snuck out of the house. Sighing in content as the cold air nipped at his cheeks. He started walking down his usual path. His big blue eyes scanned the familiar area. The dried leaves crunched beneath his feet, a twig snapped a few feet behind him. He spun around trying to see who was following him, it was quite hard seeing anything in the moonless night "who's there" he asked in a whisper. There was no answer, no sounds and no footsteps -nothing- he sighed and continued walking towards the clearing. Someone was breathing heavily right beside him. It sounded like whoever it was, was smelling him. Frightened the young man turned around, his blue eyes scanned the area, coming up with nothing. He walked a few more steps but immediately stopped when someone came rushing towards him and tackled him to the ground. They put their hand over his mouth to stop him from screaming "shhh. It's only me" the person said "what the hell Hanna. You scared the living day lights out of me" he hissed back pushing her off of him and dusting himself off. He sent the short girl a glare before stuffing his hands in his pockets and walked on "your not aloud outside at night. You know what grandpa said that lives in here and only come out at night" she sang behind him. Their grandad always tell them about the terror in the forest. He said that it has red eyes a tong that can grate the bark of trees and no one who ever saw it could live to tell the story. The boy asked how his grandfather knows about it and asked how it looked, but he always answered with in riddles. "Thats just some stupid story Han. Besides why are you out here?" he asked pushing the thoughts of the "terror" to the back of his mind. Afraid that he might start believing the stories his crazy granddad always tells him "oh don't try changing the subject Roy. You know the terror will catch you and then your done for" Hanna told him with a shudder "yeah right" he mumbled back "you know you're scared of it. Just imagine, blood red beady eyes watching you from the dark. A spiky tongue thrusting for your blood and flesh. Heavy breathing, inhaling your sweet sent...." she said causing Roy to become nervous. He discreetly glanced around him, Hanna was trailing behind him suddenly became quite "whats that? There?!" she hissed in a whisper. Roy practically snapped his neck in the direction she pointed to only to come up with nothing. He groaned and turned to look at her doubled over in laughter "really Han? Really?" he asked in disbelief. He walked on ignoring his twins laughing. Someting in the distance caught his gaze. It was small blood red beads, almost like eyes. He heard heavy breathing as well. He blinked once and looked at the direction of the red beads again only to find that they weren't there, he still heard the heavy breathing ans his head snapped in Hanna's direction "would you stop that!" he hissed. His paranoia must be getting to him, he thought "I'm not the one breathing heavily" she whispered terrified of who it might be. Roy's eyes widened, his breathing hitched and he shared a look with Hanna when he heard a twig snapping in the distance swallowing his fear he spun around positioning himself between Hanna and the Terror. It stalked closer inhaling deeply "Hanna. You need to run. Get help" Roy whispered swallowing the bale in his throat. Hanna took of running back to the farm house, the Terror glanced at Roy who was slowly backing away from it. Roy stumbled and began scooting away from it as fast as he could. His back was pressing against a tree as the Terror advanced. Tears were streaming down his face. It liked his lips and opened his mouth, Roy was too fear struck to scream when the Terror's monstrous tongue peeled the flesh from his body and sucking up his blood. His red eyes kept Roy in place. The next morning Hanna led her grandparents to where they saw the Terror hoping that Roy could have hidden somewhere. She stepped on something squishy and immediately looked down. Noticing what looked like a body without flesh and drained of it's blood. She looked a little closer noticing Roy's wristwatch next to it. Her hands flew to her mouth holding back her sobbing
