Departure

Water showered on your face,
Traces of rouge washed with the rain,
I gazed at your youthful face,
Etched with sorrow on the funeral day.

Your eyes lose their spark,
It was dull and devoid of mundane desires,
It seemed the departed soul left with a piece of you,
Never to bloom, never to wither.

For the unplanned departure, never left you words,
A life was lost, can another life lost with it too,
Can the grief you had I will had too?
Can that pain rip me apart?
Can that sorrow break me within?
When my loved ones will crossed over.
Such painful thoughts, hoping will never happen.

Oh, Time, was a cruel reaper,
Giving hope, yet false hope,
Giving you happiness, yet limited,
Giving you memories, yet remembering was painful.

When my soul will depart, can I that be of old folks,
When hair is white, skin is wrinkle, and knees ache,
And when I had already witnessed all wonders life could offer,
With a loving family sending me away.

That is the kind of departure I would hope.

My second attempt at free verse. I'm hoping to get better. One friend told me to be vague and specific.
