"Where am i...."
"What is this place"
I tried to look at the surrounding area
It was dark but i can see a little bit
The floor was cold and hard ,the air was moist... Is this a cave how did I get here.
I tried to remember what happen to me and trace back how I get here....
_______________________________________"Kain!!! Get down from there!!"
A piercing shout came from a 9 year old girl who was near the tree
Me and some other boys was climbing a tree about 7 meter tall looking for some edible fruit.
"Try and make us" said one of the boy beside me
The girl who's name is Anna was puffing her cheeks out
Suddenly a woman around 20 years old came toward us.
"What's the matter Anna" the woman said to Anna trying to keep her from pouting
"Mrs Mary!!! The boys won't listen to me!!!"Anna replied
Then Mrs Mary turns towards us and said,"Alright boys,come down from there, it's getting dark soon"the woman said in a soft voice
"And you know what happen if you stay out after the sunset,the monsters will catch and gobble you up hehehe"the woman said cheekily
"What!!, monsters!!!, One of the boys said with a terrified looks on his face
So,me and the other boys hurriedly climbs down the tree.
"Come on kids,Granny Halen said we'll be having stew for dinner today"
"Yaaaay!!"all the kids shout in sync
And so all of us walk back to the cottage.
When we arrived we are greeted by the warm welcome of Granny Halen
and had stew with rye bread for dinner.
As we're preparing to go to sleep Mrs Mary called us for a bed time story.
We all sat around Mrs Mary favourite chair and listen closely to the story she tell us.
Mrs Mary read the story she read when she was a child.Some of them were fairy tales and some also about an adventure of the founder of the kingdom and other historical events that happen in the country.
Personally,my favourite story was a story of the an Aurelean knight who manage to rally the routing knights and turn the table when the demons invade Heimdall, the capital of Aurelea kingdom.
Unfortunately, today the story was about another historical figure that do some stuff at some place at some time in the past
"Mrs Mary,can we have a different story than this, it is not interesting at all",I said,whining at the boring story that would make everyone want to sleep as soon as the first paragraph was read.
"Eehh!!,you guys don't like this story,
but it is very interesting you know, because Mrs Arundalt was the only female court magician that manage to translate and reconstruct the ancient language to be more structured and organised, which advance the progress of magecraft in the kingdom
and bring a new era in the research of magic circle and spell creation....."
NOOOO!!, this is way worse than any of those historical book she always told us, now nobody can stop her from blabbering everything about magic stuff and.......all....that.....uhh...
spell...ZZZZZ.
It's morning,what happen,who carry me to my bed,what even happen yesterday,did I fell asleep after ten seconds of that extremely boring story,did anyone survive from that story,am I awake right now or this is just a dream.
"Huaaah,good morning Kain,you slept like a log last night" said Anna, stretching on her bed as she just woke up as well.
"What happen last night?"I said to her
As I rubbing my eyes
"You fell asleep right at the beginning
And I'm pretty sure everyone was asleep when she start to talk about magical artifacts"she said as she recalling the events of last night.
"I never want to hear that story ever again"
I sigh.
We live in an orphanage at the edge of the village call Appleglaze Orphanage and there's only twenty three children live in it.
They said we were not originally from this village and we were refugees from another village that was raid by goblins, me and Anna doesn't remember anything because we were to young to remember
When we came to the village we were put under the wings of Granny Halen and her son. But they were poor, so her son leave the village to work with his friend in the nearby town to support us
A few months after Granny Halen's son came back and introduce us with his colleague, Mrs Mary ,who were an herbalist apprentice that came to the village to help take care of the children and also to study the herbs in the surrounding forest.
She was friendly towards us and took care of us while doing her work as a herbalist, sometimes when we were going to the forest Mrs Mary would teach us about herbs and how to harvest them.So we repay her by gathering herbs in the forest for her to use as study material and to make medicine to sell to the other villagers.
Today ,me and Anna were sent to the forest to pick a certain flower named Glistening Orchid. It is a white Orchid that grows in late spring in the forest somewhere . We searched for hours until late afternoon
"HAAAAH, where is that freaking orchid, we search for hours"I sigh loudy while my feet walk sluggishly through the forest track
"It seems we might not be able to find it today"reply Anna,still looking for the flower
"Why do they have to sent you with me, it's not like I need any help from girls"I keep complaining
"It's because im the only one who knew which flower to pick and how to pick it correctly"she said angrily
"It's not like I want to be sent here with you"she continued
Then suddenly the ground start to shake

That's it for now, sorry if it was not exciting and slow paced
But I promise you that it will be exciting after this chapter and a little bit better scripted
