he was instantly confused, and rightly so. he didn't know that we knew each other, much less that we dater, or that she had been the girl who played me years ago. to him, it probably looked like i was holding a grudge against an innocent person that i didn't even know.
"why, what happened?" he wondered.
"she and i dated in high school and--"
the manager chuckled in amusement that was tinged with relief. "that's what it is? you don't want to interact with an ex? well, jimin, i interviewed her myself and she appeared very professional. she didn't even mention that she knew you."
"but--" jimin tried again.
"don't worry, everything will be okay." he assured. "just keep your distance and she will too."
