The Skyline pulled up to the small house in the clearing in New Hampshire.
"This is it," Caleb announced as he turned off the car.
We unpacked the car, and I looked up at the small, seemingly harmless house.
This is what my mom was warning me about?!?
A small harmless house in a clearing in a small forest near a cute little town?!!
WTF!!!!!!
As we walked inside, I breathed in the sweet scent of pine and wood. Ahhh.... so nice. It was going to be impossible to NOT have a good time here.
Caleb came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist.
"How about we find the bedroom?" he murmered in my ear.
I rolled my eyes. "Geez, let me unpack," I said, faking distress.
Caleb gave me a long lingering kiss.

That night, I turned to Caleb to wake him up, only to find out I didn't need to.
"Did you hear it too?" he asked me.
Shakily, I nodded.
Yes, I had heard something.
A noise rising up from the ground.
A pulse.
