~Chapter Four~ ~Training~

The four cats walked to the training hollow. "Today we're gonna give you a tour of our territory" Roseheart mewed. Oakpaw and Snowpaw nodded. "This is the training hollow" Shadowclaw said. "This is were warriors train their apprentices" The two apprentice walked around the training hollow for a few moments. Then the two apprentices joined the two warriors and they continued the tour.

"This is the moss rocks. We get our moss from here. There's a small stream that runs through here where we we get our water" Roseheart mewed.

Snowpaw and Oakpaw ran to the stream to get a drink then joined the other two. When they got back they went to the lake. "This is where we catch fish and when it's hot we occasionally go for a swim. It separates our territory from Waterclan territory" Roseheart meowed. Oakpaw and Snowpaw nodded and they continued.

"This is high stones. There's some prey here but not a lot. Occasionally we find rouges living here. Sometimes when we have to get out of the clan for some reason we have a meeting here" Shadowclaw said.

"This is fourtrees. We have our gatherings here, and there's a lot of mice here" Roseheart mewed when tey made it to Fourtrees.

"This is Twoleg place. You can find rats, mice, Kittypets, Twolegs, and dogs here. Stay away from Kittypets, Twolegs, Dogs, and Rats. All four if them bring trouble" Shadowclaw snarled as he glared at Snowpaw. Snowpaw looked away and they continued.

"This is the thunderpath. It separates us and Nightclan. You have to be careful when crossing a thunderpath. Towleg monsters are always on them. A twoleg monster is strong enough and fast enough to kill a cat if the cat isn't careful" Shadowclaw said. Snowpaw looked at Oakpaw, scared. "Don't worry they don't go off the thunderpath" Roseheart mewed. The cats continued.

"This is Sun Field. It's the best place to hunt. There's always prey attracted here because of the sun. It's almost always sunny here for some reason" mewed Roseheart. "And that's all the territories. Now we're gonna teach you how to hunt in the training hollow" Shadowclaw growled.

The four cats walked to the training hollow. Snowpaw and Oakpaw were talking about apprentice stuff on the way there. When they reached the training hollow they began. "Does anyone know how to drop into a hunter's crouch?" Roseheart asked. "I do" Snowpaw mewed. "Would you care to demonstrate?" Shadowclaw snarled. Snowpaw nodded. She dropped into a Hunter's crouch and pretended to stalk something.

"Well done" Roseheart praised. "Do you know how to hunt mice?" "Yes. You have to be light on your paws and as silent as possible" Snowpaw answered. Oakpaw stared in interest. "Can you demonstrate?" Shadowclaw asked. Snowpaw nodded then fell into a hunter's crouch again, except the time she was light on her paws. "Well done", Snowpaw" Roseheart purred.

The cats spent the rest of the day learning how to hunt and how to fight. When it was almost night they went back to camp. Snowpaw and Oakpaw walked to the apprentices den. Stormpaw and Windpaw were talking outside of the den. "Hi" Snowpaw and Oakpaw mewed together. "Hey" said Stormpaw. "Hi" meowed Windpaw.

"Where's Birchpaw?" Snowpaw asked.

"In the Medicine Cat den" Windpaw replied. "How'd training go?" Stormpaw stammered. "It went well" Oakpaw answered. "We learned a bunch of hunting and fighting moves" Stormpaw nodded. Windpaw got up with Snowpaw. "We're gonna go get some fresh kill" Windpaw mewed. Oakpaw and Stormpaw nodded as the two she-cats padded over to the fresh kill pile.
