Streets of gold crumple underneath
As the dark pavement matches the dark attitude of the people
Screeching of tires as vehicles struggle to come to a stop
And churches cowering in fear, calling out for help
Schools with no guarantee of the children's lives
After these affairs, tears flood the eyes of those lost and those loved
Where's the hope?
Cities covered in waste, injurious to mother nature
Mass shootings injuring those who just want to better themselves
Covered up by the government, trying to keep us sane
Many people in despair wondering who to trust, where to look
Caring, loving souls once here, diminished as new generations grow older
Many once knew this nation as united, but now it's crumpling apart by it's own people
Where's the hope?
Where's the hope?
