When Mara had woken up the mad not moved, but he was breathing. She had breakfast going when Ari and Jaxon woke up. "Nothin huh?" Jaxon asked. "Yeah. I stayed up for a while and nothing happened." She said with a hint of disappointment. Ari had gotten a plate of eggs and sat at the table. "Can you hand me a plate? Thanks." Jaxon said.

They were all eating breakfast when suddenly Mara's looked up. "Did you guys hear that?" "No? What was it?" Jaxon questioned. "Ah! Ow ow ow!!" Mara nearly jumped 10 feet when she saw the man was awake. She ran over to him and kneeled on the floor. "Hay! Stay still. I'm Mara that's Jaxon and Ari." Mara explained. "Don't worry! We aren't gonna hurt you. I promise. What's your name?"She asked. He laughed a little. "Calm down! My name is...Pax. I came from Rorke." He explained. "Um...what year is it?" He had asked "It's 1456." Jaxon replied. "2 YEARS!?!?" he yelled. He tried to jump up but he couldn't move. "Don't move!" Mara yelled.

"I gotta leave!" He protested. " You aren't going anywhere!" Jaxon said. Jaxon wasn't to thrilled that he had woken up. He was kinda hoping he was dead so he could sell the armour. Metal such as that could go for a LOT of money. "Once you are healed you can leave. But it won't be anytime soon." Mara added. "You don't understand. I was supposed to deliver a message to Norak 2 years ago to prevent a war!! I need to go!" Pax said attempting to get up but Mara had shoved him back down. "Listen dude!! If I say you aren't getting up, you are staying on this couch! Get it? Got it? Good!" Mara said frustrated. "1 week then? Then I will leave." He asked. Ari laughed at the two arguing back and forth. "Fine! 1 week!" Mara said with anger in her words.

Later that night Mara had made the same bed on the floor next to Pax. "You know I'll be ok right?" He asked Mara. "I know....but I like it out here." She replied. As she dozed off into her sleep Pax could not help but watch her. For he had found her rather beautiful. But was sure she had thought he was a barbarian. Intruding on her house and on her family. So he would only ignore the fact. But Mara had known he was watching her sleep. So she fell asleep with a smile on her face, as did Pax.

When Ari had come to the living room where Mara and Pax were sleeping, she did not expect to find Pax sitting upright reading an old tattered piece of paper. She sat down next to him. She gazed at the paper. "Would you like to read it?" He asked. She nodded a yes. As she read the paper Pax noticed he had never heard he speak. "You don't talk much do you? It's ok. I understand. But may I ask why?" She grabbed a paper and a pencil. She wrote down her reason. She had been separated from her mother when she was 5 in the marketplace and had never seen her again. So she vowed never to speak till the day she found her mother. "I'm sorry I had n..." Pax tried to finish his sentence but then Jaxon came running in. "What's for breakfast!?" He howled. "WHAT!!" Mara yelled as she woke up from a bad dream. "Wow! Bad dream?" Jaxon asked laughing.

"Oh shut up! It's not like we've never heard you scream in your sleep!" Mara shot back. "Someone woke up the wrong side of the floor!" Jaxon goofed. Mara threw a pillow at him. Everyone laughed. "I can make something." Pax said. "No. you need to rest." Mara nagged. "Look!" Pax stood right up. Everyone yelled and thought he was going to die or something. "I'm fine you guys! All I needed was some rest. Now, what can I do?" He asked looking around the house. "Nothing !" Mara barked. He started walking around slowly. Mara was right beside him just in case something would happen.

Later that day Pax had gotten used to walking so much he asked if he was able to walk around the village. Him and Jaxon went to the marketplace for food. They talked quite a bit. About the girls and what had happened when Pax was missing for those two years. Pax had asked many questions about Mara. Like about her family and interests. Jaxon had asked what it was like to be from a city. He said it was ok. But Pax did not tell them he was a prince. He had thought they would act different around him.

So as they continued to the market Jaxon asked how he wound up in the ice. "I don't remember. All I remember is I was riding Charlie, my horse, and the next I know I'm on your couch." He explained. "I'm sorry we didn't mean to scare you but we couldn't just leave you." Jaxon replied. "I know! It was just a little scary. But you guys seem harmless." He goofed. When they got to the market, they found what they needed and went back home. When they got their the girls were nowhere to be found. So the boys started dinner. It was getting late enough that Pax started to worry. Jaxon said they were probably just fishing.

After a while they came home. "Look what we got!" Mara said as she came running through the door. "Pax, come here!" She begged "No. I don't trust you." He said with a laugh. "Please!?" She begged again. "Fine!" He said as he slowly walked over to her. She told him to hold out his arms and so he did as he was told. She threw piles of clothes on his arms. "Here!" She said. "What am I supposed to do with these?" He asked.

"Wear them?" she questioned. "No! You didn't have to do that!" He said with a smile on his face.

A week later and Mara still slept on the floor. But Pax had woken her up early to let her know he was leaving. She looked him his brown dark eyes and told him to stay. He said he wished he could but he couldn't. He told her he would come and visit but she wanted him to stay more then anything. "What if we came with you?" She said in a hurry. "Mara, I promise I'll come and visit you! This is a long way home for me. And I don't want you to get hurt." He explained. "I'm coming with. I'll go wake up the others." She said running down the hall.

Pax had no time to say no. They all came running out getting ready and Pax, in the midst of all this, was standing in the middle of the living room staring at Mara smiling.
