She cried as I just hugged her. I knew I couldn't be with her or else she would get hurt even more. I have to end this....
I'm sorry Eve...
"We can't be together, I don't want to hurt you...it would break my heart."
"I understand Zane.." she looked hurt. This was a look I've never seen on her before. That's not Eve...not my Eve.
I got up from the bench, looked at her, and then walked away.
I'm such a jerk. She won't be herself...
I was walking down the sidewalk when I noticed there was no cars, so I started across the street. It was such a quiet afternoon, which was not normal. I was half way across the street when I heard the sounds of a car horn in the distance.
I looked to my left just as I saw headlights flying my way...it was too late.
