A Be More Chill Rant:

People need to stop referring to the squip as a horrible person, or saying that he was intentionally cruel to Jeremy. First of all, the squip is not a person. One of the main points in the musical is how technology is taking over our lives and lowering out self esteem, what with social media and stuff. Referring to the squip as an actual human being takes away a huge part of the show. Also, the squip wasn't cruel, it was programmed to help Jeremy. It's a fucking computer. It had a job to do, which was make Jeremy more cool, and it's doing it in the way it's programmed to think it should. In the book, the squip is actually really kind to Jeremy instead of using electric shock therapy on him. It isn't just the programmed mind of the squip's fault that this whole thing happened, it's the fault of the guys who programmed the squip without thinking about how it could hurt someone. That's my rant. Give me credit if you publish it.
