"We were stupid kids who thought that nothing between us would ever change," she chuckled sitting down beside him.
They had been stupid kids, the stupidest. But they'd had fun that day. The day had consisted of Amelia mostly begging Luke to do things; buy a suit, climb a tree, not tell his parents how she'd cut her knee. In the process she had also ripped the dress she'd bought. But Luke being Luke have rushed in to help and set about cleaning her knee. This was when Luke realised that he was in love with Amelia. She had thanked him with a hug and a kiss and his heart had melted.
"Do you know why I got grounded?" Luke asked and Amelia shook her head.
"I told my parents I pushed you," he tapped the photo against his palm.
"Why did you lie to them?" She asked.
Luke smiled, "Because I promised you I wouldn't tell them how you really cut your knee."
