Chapter 6
It was a few days later than the accident when they decided to wake Louis up. Harry was present there waiting for Louis to be awake.
"Don't crowd him." The doctor said, "He's gonna be a little groggy, so let's just give him some space." The doctor was saying when Louis' eyes fluttered and then he opened them.
Harry sighed of relief, "Hey. It's so good to see you." He said
Louis looked confused and winced before looking around.
"Louis?" The doctor asked and he looked at the doctor
"It's okay. You're in the hospital. You were in a car accident." The doctor explained, "You hit your head, but you're okay."
Louis looked at the doctor wanting to hear more.
"We just kept you asleep for a little while." The doctor shrugged
"How do you feel?" Harry asked
Louis winced again, "My head hurts" he stated groggily
Harry was about to panic, he looked at the doctor who assured him.
"Yeah, well, that's perfectly normal." She said, "I'll get you something for that."
The doctor was about to walk away when Louis spoke up
"Was anyone else hurt, Doctor?" Louis asked genuinely concerned
The doctor was speechless, "Uh..."
Louis looked confused. He was confused. So was Harry.
"Louis," Harry said softly, "you know who I am, right?"
Louis rolled his eyes lightly but his facial expression didn't change much, "Yeah. You're my doctor."
He said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Harry felt his heart leap up to his throat. He couldn't believe it.
He never thought that Louis wouldn't remember him. Harry felt like he was about to cry but he had to be strong for Louis.
"Um..." Harry said walking closer to the bed Louis was on.
He sat down on a chair next to his bed,
"I'm your husband." He said softly
Louis' eyes went wide as he stared at Harry.
Harry brought his hand closer to Louis, to hold it, to assure him that everything would be alright.
"Louis?" He asked softly but Louis gasped and retreated his hand.
It was almost of Louis was scared of the unknown man in front of him.
