Betrayal

Long ago I was forgotten.
Like a ghost in the silence, and their backs, was all I could see.
The key thrown away
And I was locked in,
It looked like I was there to stay.
Never to be found, trapped on the ground with my wings clipped and my shoulder chipped.

It's funny how the people you'd
Take a bullet for,
Are the ones who
Pulled the trigger.
Guns for hands with the safety off, taking your heart for their shooting range, lighting you up to see you fall in the dark.

Left alive on my death bed, no cure for their sickness.
I wish it was them instead, but an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.
I'm tied down with lead, a heavy head that can't reach the clouds anymore.
