Prologue

"It's never too late to turn your life around." my mother said comforting me.

I had my arms around my legs, tears falling helplessly from my eyes. I clenched as the pain grew bigger on my wrists, my cuts burning.

"Mom... I'm so sorry." I said digging my face in her chest.

She stroked my head comfortingly, hushing trying to stop me from crying.

"Honey, please, I hate to see you like this..." she said quietly.

She got up from the floor to search for something. She opened a drawer and took out an envelope, smiling weakly at me.

She handed it to me and I looked at her confused, my eyes red from all the crying, as I took the envelope from her hands.

I opened it slowly, nervous of what I'd find inside. My mother was eyeing it carefully, anxious to see my reaction. I pulled out an airplane ticket and I looked at it for a while before reacting.

"You're sending me to London?"
