Janina's pov: I was woken up by my phone ringing. I groaned and picked up my phone. I accepted the call -not bothering to check to see who was calling- and put it to my ear.

"Hello?" I muttered, sleepily.

Then I heard the voice, of the boy who has hurt me multiple times and I'm still completely hung up over.

"Hey, Janina." Zach said.

I sat up in my bed, leaning against the headboard of my bed.

"Why are you calling me?" I asked.

"Especially really late in the morning." I added.

I heard him sigh.

"Honestly?" He asked.

"Mhm." I hummed.

"I don't know why I called you." He said.

"I'm not sure if it's because I miss you or whatever." He continued.

I stayed silent, not knowing what to say.

"Can you believe I started reading emails?" He asked chuckling.

I laughed slightly.

"It's hard to believe, to be honest." I said.

"If I hadn't noticed you sent me one then I'd probably won't start reading any." He replied.

I stayed silent once again.

"I want to see you." He said.

"Huh?" I asked, not quite sure if I heard him correctly.

"I want to see you." He repeated.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because believe it or not, I miss you." He said.

"You have a girlfriend." I said.

"I know." He replied with a sigh.

"Why can't we just be friends?" He asked.

"Because I'm still in love with you, you freaking idiot." I said.

He stayed silent.

"Look Zach, I'm just gonna go, I'm tired." I said.

"Do you want me to sing you to sleep, like old times?" He asked laughing lightly.

"This isn't like old times, Zach." I said.

"I know." He said.

"Goodnight, Zach." I said before hanging up.
