Chapter 12

Secrets

Jimin started having deja vu from that night when Yoongi came over to comfort him, and the thought made redness creep into his cheeks. This whole situation was so wrong, but Jae wasn't home so what else could he do? Maybe this person had noticed that he found the microphone and would now come to his house and kill him or something? Jimin shook his head.

Soon he heard the door ring and went to open, hesitating for a few seconds before finally turning the lock and pushing down the handle to reveal Yoongi who was changing his weight on his feet in worry and uneasiness.

Jimin held back a smile at the sight.

"Thanks for coming over, hyung.", he said, and Yoongi shrugged while stepping inside. They locked the door, and then went back to the kitchen where the microphone was laid on the counter. Yoongi went over to pick it up and check it while Jimin decided to sit down next to him and watch.

The male turned and felt the microphone, seemingly trying to find something. As he seemed to have managed finding whatever he searched for he pressed on it and placed it back down on the table.

"What are you doing, hyung?"

"This will send signals to the 'head quarters'.", he explained simply, and Jimin furrowed his eyebrows and turned his head slightly to the side in a questioning way.

"What good will that do? Won't it just alert an alarm for whoever this is?", Jimin asked, and Yoongi shook his head while seemingly focusing on his surroundings.

"I just have a feeling."

And as if on cue a ringing alarm was heard, and Jimin looked up with wide eyes to try and hear where it came from. Yoongi stood up and began walking around, with Jimin following him. As they walked out from the kitchen and into the hallway the noise became louder. Jimin could now easily tell where it came from and it turned his stomach inside out. He felt like vomiting because the thought brought him great discomfort. It made the whole room spin, but he forced his legs to continue walking until they found the source.

And there it was. The door leading into the secret room which Jae forbid him from entering. Yoongi gave Jimin a pitying look, while Jimin's head simply kept spinning and his expression remained blank. Yoongi seemed to have noticed the shock Jimin was currently experiencing and took his cold hand in his bigger one and squeezed it.

"Do you have a key?", Yoongi asked, his raspy voice soft and slightly hesitant since Jimin was obviously very fragile at the moment.

"It's open... Jae trusts me.", Jimin replied, the sound of his voice airy as he stared at the wooden door in front of him, not even feeling the warmth from Yoongi's hand.

What secrets did Jae hide on the other side between those four walls?
Was this the only thing he had kept from Jimin?
What was even the truth?
Would it be revealed once they opened that door?

Jimin wanted to vomit. He wanted to forget everything and go to bed like nothing had happened. He felt betrayed.

He watched as Yoongi reached out to push down the handle while holding his breath; unsure of what to expect. His heart kept pounding in his chest, and his throat felt thick.

Yoongi opened the door, and Jimin closed his eyes while preparing himself for whatever image he might see. He could barely breath as he heard the gasp coming from Yoongi. He didn't want to open his eyes. He wanted to keep up the phasade and stay in the lie he had created.

The lie about his life being perfect; his boyfriend being good to him.

The lie about him living a happy life.
