Joshua and Brendon are leaders of Ecstrar, an organisation that arranges deals between gangs and supplies firearms to military groups and mafias all the same. they have no real accomplices or enemies but gangs can rise up against their control at any moment so gang wars are a constant threat.
the Josephs had been under their radar for months. Chris owed Brendon $13,000 for a drug deal he failed to pay for, so Brendon took the situation into his own hands.
Tyler ends up in the Ecstrar HQ after Chris left the 4 Joseph siblings in New York and fled to Columbus. Hes only 17 and looking for a job. Josh realises how vulnerable Tyler is and immediately hires him, he provides all 4 Josephs with a house and becomes extremely protective of Tyler.
before Ecstrar Josh was part of Krakn, a smaller gang that mainly dealt in firearms. during a gang war that lasted 3 months Josh's daughter was killed. He refused to let the same happen to Tyler.
