I'm seeing the world with kaleidoscope eyes.
Every new color brings a sense of wonder to my mind.
I see a bird rolling by, telling me it doesn't mind,
Saying, "Just head towards the sun, and it'll all be alright."
I hear a whisper in the wind, letting me know I'm new again
"You're who you always were, yet will never be again."
The stars look much brighter than ever before,
And suddenly I'm trapped by these walls and these doors.
I need to be out, need to be free, these kaleidoscope eyes are beckoning me.
I can see the Milky Way, and the light of a million suns
Telling me to hold tight to my smile, so it won't try to run.
But here I do sit, smile plastered on, promising it is mine, and it will never be gone.
But I nod to the stars, assure them that I will be alright
Because my smile is not leaving, and I've got kaleidoscope eyes.
