Flynnigan

We stepped out of the cab together, I made Dr. Watson pay.
"So. How did I do?"

"Perfect. Absolutely perfect."

I smiled. I loved when the simpleminded appreciated me.
"Really? I didn't expect to get it all right."

The Doctor nodded.
"Just one thing. Harry is short for Harriet."

"Oh."

There was always something. Of course it was a sister. As I approached the police tape I was met with Sergeant Donavin. Lovely.

"What are you doing here, Freak?"

"I'm here to see Detective Inspector Lestrade."

"Why."

Always with the stupid questions. Why am I punished like this?
"I was invited."

"Why?"

"I think they want me to take a look."

She scowled at me.
"Well you know what I think don't you?"

I lifted the tape and ducked under.
"Always Sally."
I smelled something odd.
"I even know you didn't make it home last night."

Dr. Watson approached. Of course Sergeant Donavin stopped them.
"Who is this?"

"Colleague of mine, Dr. Watson. Dr. Watson, Sergeant Sally Donavin."

She smiled in a smug fashion.
"A colleague? How do you get a colleague?"
She turned to the Doctor.
"Did he follow you home?"

"Would it be better if I just waited-"

"No."
I held the tape up for them to pass beneath.

Sally spoke into her radio.
"Freak is here, bringing him in."

I looked around. Nothing too unusual outside the building. Then, of course, who should come out but Michael Anderson?
"Ah, Anderson. Here we are again."

He handed me a pair of gloves.
"It's a crime scene. I don't want it contaminated. Are we clear on that?"

"Quite clear," I said taking the gloves. I sniffed and smiled.
"Is your wife away for long?"

"Oh don't pretend you worked that out. Somebody told you that."

"Your deodorant told me that."

He was skeptical.
"My deodorant?"

"It's for men."

He seemed very indignant.
"Well of course it's for men. I'm wearing it."

"So's Sergeant Donavin."
He looked back at her quickly.
"Ooh... and I think it just evaporated. May I go in?"

He leaned in close, which was mildly entertaining since he was so much shorter than me.
"Whatever you're trying to imply..."

I shook my head and walked past.
"I'm not implying anything. I'm sure Sally came round for a nice little chat, and just happened to stay over."
I looked at her legs.
"And I assume she scrubbed your floor by the state of her knees."

That shut them both up. I walked into the building smiling. The Detective Inspector was inside waiting.
"Who's that?"

"They're with me," I assured them.

"But who are they?"

"I said they're with me."

Doctor Watson seemed to finally catch on to what I was actually saying and blushed. I didn't comment.
"So where?"
