His fiercely orange fur
was attacked
by veins of darkness
black as night
crawling like octopus' tentacles
trying to inject poison
into his bold heart.
But they didn't go further
than the fire
on his skin
for his spirited soul
burned them to ashes.
So the tiger
never got rid
of his stripes;
they represented the pain
he's been through.
After all he carried these scars
proudly.
