Darling dearest why
Do you lie there sobbing tears of wine
Does it tame the static inside
Or dull the edge of a knife invisible to my eyes
Because I'm for certain there's a simpler way out
Than collapsing out of reach so you can sniffle and snoofle and pout
But forgive me for appearing too rigid, or even a bit stout
My perspective to your situation takes a different route
Unfortunately it's much quicker to jump to conclusions
Than to put on a falsely flattering illusion
Pardon the intrusion
I'm afraid it's a battle we're losin'
To be frank there are ganglers that find it hard to listen
I try not to be guilty but the jury has risen
Please don't be afraid to remind me what's best
This is not about me or how I am always over dressed
Maybe I should try to rhyme less,
Yes?
I love you darling dearest and you deserve to be understood
I'd best try to do better and listen hard I should
Forgive me for I am still learning how to be a fair friend
But always remember I am with you to the end
