The Reason

They ask me why
Why I'm always hunched
Looking down at my phone
While the world is socializing.

I shrug, I don't say anything
I return to my phone
I don't let anyone see my face
For if they truly did, they'd know.

They'd know the real reason
They'd know how no one cared
They'd know what I had to bear
In the darkness.

In the pitch blackness
I had had no one
I had had nothing
But the bright light radiating from my cell phone.
