More than 200 interviews, internal company logs and emails hitherto private have been the material that allowed the New York Times to do a thorough investigation of how Harvey Wenstein, the disgraced film producer, did everything to hide allegations of abuse sexual relationship that now hangs over you.
The information collected by the newspaper encompasses reports of the producer's relationship with his subordinates (who helped him by taking actresses to hotel rooms), political power (of which Weinstein bragged to intimidate those who threatened to denounce him) and the media (which Weinstein used to stifle suspicion about his behavior).
The newspaper also reveals that before publishing the first article that exposed the accusations of sexual abuse and that initiated a torrent of other accusations, the own Weinstein called to the journalists responsible for the article. "Alternating between flattery and threats, he said he always had a way of knowing who collaborated with the investigation and who had a way to crush it. "I am a man with great resources," he warned, writes the US newspaper.
Weinstein also benefited from a network in the media, which he sought to create to counter negative reports that might arise about him. At one point, for example, he hired AJ Benza - a former celebrity columnist for the New York Daily News - to give him stories about other celebrities.
The producer also had "strong ties" to the tabloid group American Media (owner of several publications,). The group, he writes, "was known to sometimes help their allies in trouble with a strategy known in tabloid newsrooms as 'catch and kill' - acquire exclusive rights to harmful stories and never publish them.
Michael Jackson was one of the targets of Harvey Weinstein and his collaborators . Fake sexual abuse reports were published by The National Enquirer and Radar Online to conceal cases of Harvey Weinstein's rape.
In the list of cases to cover up Harvey's rape stories, choreographer Wade Robson, who witnessed Michael in 2005, suddenly appeared in the media claiming a new allegation of sexual abuse , and the malicious publication of RadarOnline claimed to have obtained documents proving that Jackson kept children's pornographic material at Neverland, nothing was proven until they discovered that the photographs were actually portraits of the Canadian artist Jonathan Hobin ..."
