I published this again bc there was a typo and I fixed it. :)

Violet's POV

I was bored.

I was crazy bored.

I had tried calling Harry as soon as I landed but his phone went straight to voicemail. I huffed as i leaned against my bed in my hotel room and I pouted.

Penelope probably misses me.

Surprisingly, Jim said he'd fly down too in a couple of days so I wouldn't have to handle this case all by myself. I honestly thought it a bit odd for him to offer to spend so much time with me so I told him that I'd be fine, but he insisted.

I decided not to think much of it though, I mean...he's my boss. Nothing is going to happen.

I jumped when my phone began to ring. I looked over, smiling when I saw Harry's name flash on the screen.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hey baby," he replied, "I'm sorry I didn't get your call. I was working on the new launch. We're prepping for our show that's next week. I'm so excited."

"You should model," I suggested, smiling to myself. He snorted.

"Yeah, no," he laughed, "Penelope seems to hate me by the way."

I laughed, "I'm sure she loves you."

"She really doesn't. She's been growling all day at me, especially when I come over to pet her. And the only time she doesn't growl - get this - the only time she doesn't growl," he paused, "is when I have to feed her."

"Awe," I cooed, "she's so cute."

"Hey," he droned, "I'm cuter."

I chuckled and stayed quiet. He scoffed after a while and mumbled. I heard some shuffling coming from his end and furrowed my eyebrows.

"Babe, what's the time for you over there?" I asked.

"8:15pm," he mumbled, "why?"

I looked at the clock. It was only 2:15 here.

"Well for one, we have a six hour time difference," I pouted, "and you never work late. Why are you still at the office?"

He sighed, shuffling around a bit more, "I'm actually heading home now. I stayed a bit because I had some more work to do. We had a couple extra models come in unexpectedly and I had to take care of it. Also, because it's lonely at my house now since you moved out."

I laughed, "hey, it's better for our relationship."

"How in the hell is it better? I'm farther away from you now."

"I enjoy it," I shrugged, "it's nice not having such a bother sometimes."

He was silent for a moment or two before he finally spoke, "that's it. I'm hanging up."

"No!"

"Well there's no point in talking to you if you're just going to shit on my wonderful boyfriend skills and- hey! Penelope! Stop biting my fucking pants," he growled. I laughed.

"It's not funny, Violet!" he groaned, "she really hates me, that dog."

"I'm sure it's just a regular love hate relationship," I replied.

"Na," he said, "she hates me."

"Just feed her when she gets hungry and give her a belly rub when she wants one," I said.

"She keeps moving away from me," he replied, "I'm serious. Louis walked in here today to talk to me about how our launch was going, and how people were liking and reacting to the clothes, right? And Penelope? She just waltzes right on up to Louis and plops her furry little ass down and rolls over, asking for a fucking belly rub."

"I think she's just jealous of you," I whispered. He paused.

"Why?"

"Cause of me, obviously," I scoffed. He snorted.

"Uh huh," he joked, "look, I have to go but I'll see you soon? One week?"

"One week."

We said our goodbyes and just before he hung up, I could have almost swore I heard a female voice in the background. I furrowed my eyebrows, but then realized it was probably his secretary or something and thought nothing of it. I mean, I'm in my twenties. I'm too old for this high school jealously bullshit.

I decided to send Harry a quick text, before he left for his house.

Me: Drive safe! And take care of my puppy please :). Also take care of yourself. I'll miss you. :(

Harry: I'll miss you more, darling. Please be safe over there. Text me when you can! One week.

I smiled as I read his text and set my phone down before I looked out of my window to the Chicago skyline. I sighed as I frowned to myself.

I had to go to my client, John Allison's office at three o'clock. It was currently two twenty-five.

I groaned as I pulled myself out of bed.

~

"Okay," I sighed, looking at my client John Allison, "so everything looks good. I'll get in touch with the other party and see if they're willing to possibly negotiate before we even have to take it to court."

John nodded, sighing exasperatedly, "they have no right to refuse us. We own the company. Just because they manage the building doesn't mean it's theirs to claim!"

I nodded, "I understand that, sir. Which is why I'm going to try my best to help you. If they don't go to court, we'd have to order them a subpoena."

"Fine by me," he scoffed, "as long as I get my case won."

I nodded and smiled at him, thanking him briefly before I packed up my files and made my way out of the room. I sighed.

As much as I love Law...I hate it.

~

I sighed as I wrapped my jacket around me, holding my bag around my shoulder as I stepped out into the city of Chicago. I decided to make my way to a Starbucks and stop for a quick coffee. Caffeine wouldn't hurt.

I stood in line patiently, keeping my eyes downcast as I waited for the line to move. I suddenly heard my name being whispered and I looked up, finding a small group of teenage girls looking at me. I rose an eyebrow and they stopped, one of them hesitantly coming forward and extending a magazine out to me.

"Are you...her?" she asked. I looked down at the magazine and my lips parted.

It was the picture that had been taken of me and Harry hugging that night at the restaurant when Jace, Bella and him and I went out to dinner. The caption next to it said, "Styles' Secret Love?"

I read the article, swearing mentally to myself when I saw that they had accused me of stealing Harry away from Bella. I wasn't even famous!

I looked back up at the teens and silently handed their magazine back and without a word, left the cafe. I sighed and hugged my arms around myself, suddenly feeling very self- conscious about whether or not I'd be seen. I wanted a normal life. I know dating Harry who was the CEO of one of the biggest fashion companies was probably going to get me to the farthest thing from a normal life, but I didn't want any media attention.

I sighed as I held up the phone to my ear, dialing Harry's number only to have it go to voicemail. I frowned again. I'd just call him later.

As I walked, I began to think about that article. My only curiosity was why they had waited so long to print the picture, when it had happened almost a month ago.
