AMELIE WAS NAMED after the one and only Amelia Earhart. She was a variable that was in the maze full of girls. But it didn't mean that she was like every other girl in her group. That day when both groups A and B crossed paths with one another, Amelie met Newt. Ever since that moment, the two had met, they had been close ever since.

YET, NOT EVERYTHING went well for Amelie. She died from a major third-degree burn from her time in the scorch. Newt had never been the same since. His friend died young, only she was the lover that he was seeking. and from that time on, Newt had written letters to Amelie every day. For she was his dearest lover and he needed to tell her everything.

‌‌━━━ the story is written in the form of letters, newt addresses the letter to his "dearest lover". he goes on to talk about how he met amelie and how he wished that she was still alive for she was the only one who understood him more than anyone else

‌‌━━━ it's pretty much a diary about newt's life and his struggles, the way he opens up in writing and writes a letter to his friend although she is dead

‌‌━━━ he writes as if amelie is distant and far away from him, treating her as if she was alive; when in all truth she is dead (it's lowkey his way of coping with things)

‌‌━━━ newt mentions how he discovers that he is not immune and how the whole world seems to fall upside down for what has happened

‌‌━━━ he writes his final letter talking about how he will be seeing amelie again, and how he is thrilled to reunite with the love of his life

‌‌━━━‌ although amelia is dead, newt mentions many things about her when she was alive, which include the following:

‌━━━ amelia was afraid of rain, newt literally had to be the one to cure her of her fear because he wanted amelia to see the beauty of the world

‌━━━she is a major klutz, she used to trip over her feet a lot

‌‌━━━ amelia had the wish to eat a box of oreo's once the world had gone back to normal from the apocalyptic state that it was in and she shared her first kiss with newt before she had died

‌━━━ this plot is honestly cute but heartbreaking at the same time, i personally feel that it could be amazing for someone to write and bring some happiness regardless as to how newt died, he needs all the love!
