Virgil shivered, pulling his hoodie closer around him as he tried to walk faster. The snow was coming down quickly, and if he didn't get home soon he would probably freeze.

It had been pretty, at first. Watching the snowflakes slowly fall to the ground, decorating the streets, parked cars, and roofs in white. He had paused to watch it, even looking to the sky and letting a snowflake land on his tongue. Soon though, it started falling faster, and even though Virgil did have his hoodie on-because when did he not-the cold was still getting to him.

As it got colder, Virgil started to realize just how far away his apartment was. He definitely wasn't going to be able to make it that far, not when the snow was already making it hard to see ahead of him. He scanned the streets, figuring out where he was and trying to think of anyone nearby he could ask to stay with until the snow stopped. He groaned as he realized that the only person anywhere near here was Roman-he did not want to stay with him.

Roman was the only person in his friend group he wasn't very close to. They knew each other through Patton, Logan being their other friend. Virgil liked Patton, he always included him and he was a really sweet guy. He also got along well with Logan, and he would consider both of them his best friends. (I just... the card..... I reminded myself of the card, it was so sweet ohmygod) Roman, on the other hand, was loud and obnoxious, and took every chance he got to make fun of Virgil. Of course, Virgil did get him back, but it was usually Roman's fault when the two started arguing.

Virgil did not want to argue with him that day, but the snow falling fast around him reminded him that he didn't have any other options. Other than freezing to death, and he would be lying if he said he didn't consider it. With a sigh Virgil gave in and started making his way to Roman's place.

When he arrived it took him a moment to work up the courage to actually knock. He wondered if Roman would even let him stay-it was incredibly random. Maybe he should have texted him first to be sure. Shaking his head, Virgil knocked on the door before he could change his mind and stepped back to wait for him to open it.

"Hello?" Roman called as the door swung open, seeing Virgil standing in front of him. "Oh. Hello, Virgil. What are you doing over here? Did you walk-it's snowing a lot, I would hope not."

"Actually, uh... yeah. I got caught out in the snow, and you're the only person nearby... If you don't mind, could I stay until it stops?" He asked, tugging the sleeves of his small jacket over his hands.

"Well I can't just leave you out in the cold, can I?" Roman asked, grinning as he opened the door wider for Virgil to enter. His grin turned to a soft smile, trying to reassure Virgil. "Of course I don't mind. We argue, yes, but you are my friend. You're welcome to stay as long as you'd like."

"Th-thanks.." Virgil mumbled, quickly scurrying inside so Roman could close the door. He watched as Roman walked over to the couch, sitting down and looking up to see Virgil standing.

"You're allowed to sit down, you know." He laughed, Virgil's cheeks heating up as he moved to sit on the opposite side of the couch from Roman. Roman shot him another small smile, Virgil forcing a nervous one back and looking down at his hands in his lap. An awkward silence filled the room, neither of them sure of what to say.

"This is strange, isn't it?" Roman commented at last. "I don't think the two of us have ever hung out without Patton and Logan."
