Bill Denbrough never regretted his words more. That when he told his sister that he'd wish she was gone instead of her brother, she really did leave.
He remembers waking up to see his parents crying over a note left on the kitchen table. It read,

To whom ever it may concern,
I've decided to leave. Life in Derry isn't life at all, and I want to go places and experience things, but this town is just a beacon of sadness. So, I left. I can't ask you to not worry because I know you will but I can only reassure that I'm not alone and that I'm safe. Henry and the boys came with me. I won't tell you where we're staying because we don't want to be found. But do know that I'm in a house, sleeping on a bed, with food in my belly. I love you all I do but you where holding be back from being my true self. I don't know if I'll see you again, I have to find myself first and forgive. I wish you all well,
                                                   Joellen Denbrough
  P. S. This is really formal as I'm reading it back but it gets my point across.

Five Years Later

Joellen stands barefoot, toes between the sand, hands wrapped around her swollen stomach. She stares out at the waves as they crash upon the shore, she can't help but think that she's finally happy.
She's married to the man she loves, her best friends all have their own lives now but are always close by just as it's always been.
Joellen is brought out of her musings as she feels her husbands arms wrap around her.
  "Whatcha thinkin' about," he asks.
"Oh just how you looked a lot like Billy Ray Cyrus when you had the mullet," she answers him.
"Fuck off," he mutters, resting his chin on the top of her head.
She laughs, "I love you too Henry."
