Chapter 15

Karkat's POV

After Nepeta fell asleep I had trouble watching the movie instead of her cute sleeping face. I always thought it was weird when books talked about watching someone sleep, actually I still do Gog I feel like a freak, but when I looked at her I saw that sense of defenselessness and feeling of safety on her face. I dont often see her feel defenseless or in a situation where she'd have no chance. She isnt the type of girl to put on the damsel in distress act on, she is a strong and dependant girl but she's never been afraid to ask for help, something I respect and love about her. So I spent the rest of the movie catching glimpses of the actual movie and the majority of it watching her not making any movements and trying to matching my breaths with the small shallow breaths she took till we where in sync. The movie, one ive seen millions of time, was amazing like it always was. After it was over though everyone including me was ready to sleep, so Dirk told the girls they'd been in the guest room and the guys would be i'm Dave's and his room. So everyone got up and began to head towards their designated areas except me, I continued to sit there confused on what to do about Nepeta who still laid asleep.

"You it'd be easier to just pick her and carry her. Unless you don't want to."

Roxie had noticed my predicament and gave me advice that I shook my head, practically violently, in agreeance and began to sit in a position that would make hoisting two bodies possible. When I was up and had Nepeta cradled in my arms I looked at Roxy who waited for me and we began to follow the silhouettes that where migrating forward into the hall. But we didn't have to go far, just to the second door on the left, until everyone stopped someone opening the door and we all traveled into the room. No one turned on the lights so it was difficult to see my surroundings but I did see the bed and the group separating to allow me to set her down on the bed, so I did and gave her a good night kiss on her forehead then moved to allow the groggy stumbling figure that was Terezi through as Roxie guided her to the bed. She was probably stumbling because the room had no smell, it smelt of nothing which was strange but not enough to keep my interest so I headed for the door and left to Dave's room.

When I woke up the next morning I was confused on my where abouts, in my groggy dazed state I sat up and realized I was in a sleeping bag in an unfamiliar room alone. I put both hand on the carpeted ground and looked around at the red walls with poster of different things such as music posters, ones of video games and some sports. Thats when I remeber entering last night and pointing them out asking about the sports ones.

"Irony."

Was the one word answer Dave gave as he handed me the sleeping bag and I laid in the open space left for me on the floor next to his bed. All the guys slept here even Dirk and Jake since Dave wouldnt let them in Dirk's room by themselves.

"Youd get no sleep,"

He said with a wink

"and we wouldn't want y'all grumpy now would we?"

And so all the guys slept in here but no I was the only one in the room. I stood up and walked to the door putting my hand on the knob and turning it. As I walked out I heard noise and clattering coming from the kitchen/living room area and followed it. I walked down a hall that was on the other side of the house than the hall with Dirk's and the guests room. As I reached the end I turned right and walked with my right hand gliding across the hall and my left raised to my face to cover the yawn. I walked into the kitchen to see everyone on the couch except Kanaya and Rose who must have volunteered to cook breakfast.
