Days had passed since Kenneth was finally released from the hospital. Henry had to pull Kenneth out of the hospital due to lack of insurance. The family was running low on money and couldn't keep Kenneth in the hospital forever.
Henry stops Kenneth's car in the driveway to his house. Taking a deep breath, Henry looks over at his son. "Are you sure you want to go inside? You may not like who you see in there." Kenneth nods. "If what you're speaking is the truth, and this is my house, we may as well enter, correct?"
Henry sighs and nods, unlocking the car. "Alright," He mutters. "Here goes nothing...."
Kenneth enters the house first, looking around. "Hm. You do not mind if I look around, do you?" Henry shrugs. "It's your house. Maybe looking around will make you remember faster.""Fair point, Mr. Rockefeller. If you'll excuse me." Kenneth walks off into a hallway, eying each photograph hanging on the walls. Upon stepping on something soft, Kenneth stops in his tracks. Getting down on one knee, he picks up the old Fredbear plush.
"Interesting," he muses, looking at the old bear carefully. "Judging by my name on the tag, this stuffed bear belongs to me." He wrinkles his nose at a strong smell coming from the toy. "Why do you smell like motor oil?"
The young man smiles softly, holding the old thing and walking further. "Do you remember now?" Kenneth gasps in surprise and turns around. Standing at the end of the hallway was William, arms crossed and looking sad.
"Mr. Afton," Kenneth breathes out, placing a hand on his chest. "I didn't know you came to visit."
William just stares at Kenneth with such sadness, it almost made Kenneth cry for some reason."Is something the matter?" Kenneth asks. "Do you really not remember me?" William asks instead of answering. "Who I really am?"
"No, William. I'm dearly sorry if I am supposed to."
William looks down sadly. "Oh, Kenneth..... m-my little boy...""Pardon?" Kenneth raises an eyebrow.
"You were my baby once, a long time ago. It upsets me that you cannot remember. But, please, please try to."
William sniffs."Hold on," Kenneth cuts in. "Then speak with me. Perhaps then I'll finally recall everything!" William looks up in surprise. He nods. "Very well. Follow me."
With that said, William vanished around a corner. Kenneth follows quickly, almost running. Once he catches up, he nearly falls on the carpet in shock. An extremely withered animatronic rabbit stared at him, grey eyes glowing. From the coldness of this room, Kenneth guessed they were in a garage.
To his horror, the animatronic talks in a raspy voice. "I thought.....maybe if you saw your old man like this....then..."
"Wait... You're William Afton? What happened?! You looked just fine moments ago!"Afton sighs, holding his arms out. "That was just my soul. My corpse is still in here. I can enter the suit as I please."
To William's shock, he sees a tear slip from Kenneth's eye. "Dear, dear William, what has become of you? Who did this?" He demands, looking sad and outraged.
Before he can answer, Kenneth breaks down, slumping to the cold stone floor and crying. "I'll KILL whoever would do such a thing to you!"
"No," William kneels down, cupping Kenneth's chin under his robot hand. "My death happened long ago. But I am still here for a reason.""Get out of that wretched suit, Mr. Afton. I would like to face you man-to-man." Kenneth let's out a shuddered breath. William suddenly nods, his soul removing itself from the animatronic.
"The memories are slowly coming back to me. I feel like I recognize that animatronic." He points at the withered Spring Bonnie suit. Kenneth looks him dead in the eyes. Blue eyes meet brown ones. "I feel like I recognize you, dear friend."
William smiles, gently brushing away the twenty-four-year-old's tears. "Although pieces are still hazy...." he whispers, rubbing his temples, a sure sign of a headache. "Okay," he sighs, shutting his blue eyes. "Here's a question you may be able to answer. What is my full name?"
William feels his mouth go dry. 'Remember, don't lie to him. He deserves the truth.... no matter how upset he may be.' "Kenneth James Rockefeller. That's your full name."
An idea forms in William's mind. "Kenneth, I want to show you something." Kenneth follows William out of the garage and into the house. The younger man is surprised to see a piano in the hallway.
He lightly touches the white keys. "Ah," Kenneth winces, recoiling his fingers like the keys burned him. "Are you alright?" William asks. "I...think so. Woah," Afton follows Rockefeller's gaze to the cracked wall near the piano.
"Who put a hole in the wall?" Kenneth cries out. "Um, that'd be you.."
"Me?" he murmurs, looking close to tears. "Why?"
"Because you were mad about....my daughter...that I treated her nice and you didn't like that at all.""Your daughter? I thought you only had a son." Kenneth huffs, crossing his arms. "It's complicated..." William responds. "How is your headache?"
Kenneth feels his hand twitch. "A little better. But...my memory is still clouded."
The younger male blinks in surprise at the sight of Scott and Henry. "Mr. Cawthon....Mr. Rockefeller."
"Kenneth," Scott walks up to him. "Are you feeling any better?"Kenneth nods. "I am. Thank you for asking."
Scott smiles, holding his hand out. "Follow me. Let me help you restore your memory. I'll take you to a familiar restaurant. It's called Fredbear's Family Diner."
