The time masters forbid the celebration of New Years. Rip tried to do the same thing with the team and convince them that it was a pointless holiday to celebrate when you were time traveling, but it backfired horrendously for the time master as the team naturally rebelled and the ship was soon covered with New Years decor. the ship was then flown cloaked just above the dropping ball of time square giving the legends a perfect view of the sphere. Then the waverider got shot down with fireworks and the team had to fix both the ship and the time anomaly they had caused.
