Not even a week had passed since the new year started when that happened. My legs were shaking as I made my way towards the principal's office. It was never a good thing when I was called by him. The school authorities never failed to let me know how much my presence here bothered them, but this time what happened wasn't anything like I had expected even in my wildest dreams.
I felt my heart stop and my throat jam when he said"Mr. Crosby, you are expelled from Bullivan High school."
Expelled.
I opened my mouth to reply but no sound came out. Gulping down the sudden pain building in my throat, I choked out,"W-why?"
Mr. Sheehan, our principal, took off his glasses and huffed before continuing,"Because of a lot of things. The main cause being all the complains other boys have filed against you, explaining how uncomfortable your presence made them. You have also not showed any progress in sports which is affecting your grades majorly. See Mr. Crosby, the thing is that you are really different from the other boys. Different in a way that you don't fit in."
You don't fit in.
I don't fit in.
My head slacked down and I couldn't meet Mr. Sheehan's gaze in shame. I clutched the handles of the chair I was sitting on. My hands just couldn't stop shaking.
I should've fought back. I should've explained myself or at least done something.
But when hot tears slid down my cheek like a branding mark of my weaknesses, all I did was run out of the school as fast as my legs could carry me.
I was such a shame.
