[Akira, back when she accepted the mission]

"Can I... ask for your name?" Inuyasha thought to himself

'Gosh how stupid was that question? I already know her name godamnit'

Surprised, "Oh silly me, I haven't properly introduced myself haven't I? My name is Akane, you can call me however you want to" Akane smiled

"Aren't there more personal things you want to ask Inuyasha?"

Inuyasha flinched. Of course there were, he had a ton of questions to ask her but was trying not to disrespect the older family member

"You don't have to hold back Inuyasha... I owe you at least this much"

Akane saw right through him. He was very similar to his parents after all

"Then... Akane-nee san, Where have you been?"

Akane POV
Straight to the point I see...

"Well Inuyasha, being the oldest of our family--" I began to explain when he cut me off

"Wait! Oldest? So Sesshomarou is your little brother?" Inuyasha gaped at me

"Well yes, he is my little brother... he can be easily misunderstood too" I stated giggling

"Now as I was saying, as the oldest of the family, I had the responsibility of protecting the kingdom right after father" I explained reminiscing about the days

Flashback

I stood before father's humongous throne room waiting to be announced

"Lady Akane has arrived!!" The guard's voice boomed

A short "Come in" was heard from the throne room

Anxious as to why father would call for me so late in the night, I took a deep breath and I walked forward before father. Bowing down and giving my respects, I waited for him to acknowledge my presence

"Stand, Akane" Father had said

Looking up I smiled at father and asked him "What do you need father?"

At that question, he tensed and looked as if he was pained

"Akane, tonight I will send you on a mission. It will be a Spy Assassination Mission. The Eastern Lands has been been reported to be very suspicious ever since our ally with them. We have information to believe that they are planning to betray us. Will you Akane, protect our lands and our people and accept this mission?" his voice rang throughout the room

Bewildered, shocked, and frozen in place I stuttered "I..." and looked down

Thinking to Izayoi, to the faithful servants and guards of this lands, to the people, to Sesshomarou, ... to my unborn little brother.

I've made up my mind

"I accept the mission with honor father!!!" Putting my hands together and bowing my head down as a sign of respect to the Great Western Lord, Inu No Taisho

End of Flashback

"And so, I traveled to the Eastern Lands, infiltrated their royal palace as an orphan from the foreign lands and assassinated their leader" finishing the story and opening my eyes to face a very stunned Inuyasha
