The funeral took place on a cliff 2 week after so that Emily and her family could organise things exactly how they know that Michael would have wanted. Michael was Emilys father who worked used to work as a carpenter, now worked as nothing because he died. He had dark hair, and crystal blue eyes just as Emily did.

Emily and her mother Eliza went to get Michael cremated so they could spread his ashes on the cliff he loved so much. There were 5 trees on the cliff, only five, and they were situated so they created a circle with a small passage through, so you could see the never ending, deep blue ocean. Everyone who came to the funeral gathered in the circle that the trees created, as every person said something about Michael, Emily and her mother began to cry, Lola held Emily, and her brother Oliver comforted their mother, Eliza.

Eliza, Emily and Oliver all said their pieces, and Lola did the Eulogy because Michael had helped her a lot throughout her life, of course she had permission from all the family first. Then Emily, Eliza and Oliver all spread the ashes over the cliff together. They stayed there in silence for another half an hour, then everyone went home.

The day after, Emily didnt want to go to school, she couldnt handle dealing with everyone after everything that has happened. So, she stayed home and watched movies. After the first movie, she went to the freezer and got some ice-cream, went back to her bed and watched another 3 movies. During the third movie she got a call from Lola.

Emily: Hey whats up?
Lola: Dude, Camermoron just jumped off the roof and broke his leg for a YouTube video!
Emily: Hahaha are you serious? Hes so stupid
Lola: I agree, what are you doing? School finishes in an hour and I want to come around for a bit after. Emily: Im just watching movies, you can come over whenever not like you actually have to ask to come over though, you pretty much live here haha
Lola: I know but its polite! Anyway, Ill catch the bus to yours after, better be in your pjs cos Im changing when I get there
Emily: Thats okay man, see you soon.

Emily turned her movie off and went make snacks, because she knew that Lola would be hungry when she got here. She put some chicken nuggets in the deep fryer, and started making cheese and vegemite sandwiches. Once all the food was ready she put it all on a large share plate, and started to make some chocolate milk.

Emily loved cooking and making drinks because it relaxed her and helped her feel in control of what shes doing. She chopped up milk and white chocolate and blended it with full cream milk to make the yummiest and smoothest chocolate milkshake you ever will taste.

She put the drinks in the fridge along with the sandwiches as she snacked on the chicken nuggets. Lola came over 20 minutes after this, there were 5 nuggets left because Emily got bored and ate majority of them. She got the drinks and sandwiches out of the fridge and they both went to the room and put on a movie, although they werent really watching it, they were just talking and snacking. When the movie finished the girls decided it might be a clever idea to get some homework done, math because that was not Emilys strong suit and she needed a little more practice and research. Eliza called them both down for dinner about 2 and a half hours later, Emily and Lola hadnt even realised they had been studying for that long, but they were glad to have it out of the way. Everyone ate mostly in silence except for a few small conversations about school and work, once dinner was finished Emily and Lola went back up to the room and talked for a couple of hours, not really about anything, but everything.

They were up until about 2 in the morning when they both finally fell asleep next to each other. When they woke up they both had a shower, did their makeup and had breakfast, they left for school like every other morning, but of course this would not be like every other morning.

The bus was driving down the main highway that was roughly a 15-minute drive from the school, so it wouldnt be long till everyone could get off the bus. The bus turned around a sharp corner, when a truck collided with the front side of the bus killing the bus driver, 3 boys and 4 girls, and injuring the other 20 either critically or minorly. The ambulance ride to the hospital felt excruciatingly long, and Emily just wanted to know where Lola was and if she was okay.

Emily was one of the critical patients, so was Lola.

Emily had broken her left arm, dislocated right leg, had shattered glass in her legs along with a broken right ankle. Lola had been knocked unconscious and had a shattered knee, glass shards stuck in her arms and legs, and had a dislocated right arm.

When they first got to the hospital they both needed surgery to make sure every piece of glass was taken out. They come out of surgery an hour after each other, Lola was the first one to come out, however Emily had to stay in an hour longer because she had more glass in her than Lola did. The doctors said they should make a full recovery over time, but they will need to stay in the hospital for a month or more.

2 months later and the girls were being released, both knowing they would have to stay at home for a while and wouldnt be allowed to go back to school for at least another week, they set up their laptops when they got home so that they could Skype each other.

That night, Emily started getting pains in her right leg from where they did surgery to get the glass out, she told her mum, so they went to the hospital to see what could be wrong.

When they got there, the doctor told her that there has been an infection starting to appear in her leg, and if they dont treat it now, in a months time it will be at the point where it needs to be amputated.

So now Emily had to face yet another surgery, to try and kill the infection.
