After a day and a half of resting, eating, switching out the task of driving, taking bathroom breaks, stopping for gas and stretch breaks, the two fits bumped when they spotted the Welcome to California sign.

"We made it Hope, we made it Kelly" Jordan cried out as they crossed over into the state.

"I've heard that before, what's that from?" he asked looking over at Jordan.

"South Park. The episode with the lice" Jordan answered as he reached for his Code Red Mountain Dew.

Then, as Jordan sipped on his drink, Mr. Carter looked over at him.

"Hey I gotta empty the old tank if you know what I mean" he stated, referring to this blatter.

Nodding, Jordan laughed as they pulled off the highway and onto local roads. Then after pulling into a parking spot of Home Depot, Mr. Carter shut the car off and jumped out of the car.

"I'll be right back. Old man bladder!" he yelled before slamming the door shut and running into the store.

Shaking his head, Jordan reclined his seat and laid back. Then, as he looked at the ceiling of the car, he couldn't help but think of all the crazy things that had happened to him over the past month and a half. Last month, he discovered this grandmother dead in her bed, attended her funeral, and moved in with his deceased mother's younger sister. Thought Jordan was grateful for Wanda and Roy taking him in, their house never felt like home to him. Living with them was a strange for Jordan. Wanda would always openly express her resentment for Jasmine, Jordan's mother, and Wanda's older sister. All Wanda ever talked about was how Jasmine didn't deserve Jordan's father Jordan Sr. and how she was the better sister. It was those kinds of comments that made Jordan and Wanda butt heads a lot. Staying in 'the place of a child' was always that much harder when he was around her. It was like she purposely did and said things just to get a reaction out of him. But, despite how cold she was to him, Jordan couldn't help but feel a bit saddened by the fact that he was leaving behind the only family he knew. Jordan knew very little about this father's side of the family, because, Jordan Sr, or Marcus, as everyone called him, didn't know anything about them either.Prior to Jordan's parents' death, Marcus only just started to get to know his family. His mother, had gotten pregnant with him when she was only fourteen years old. When her parents found out, they immediately kicked her out, forcing her to live on the streets. Marcus' father wanted nothing to do with him as well so for his entire childhood it was just him and his mother up until he went off to college were he'd met Jasmine. They fell head over heels for one another, got married, despite some trash talking from Wanda to Marcus about his future wife, and had Jordan.

As he laid there, looking up at the ceiling, Jordan couldn't help the feeling that brewed deep within his stomach. Had he just made a mistake turning his back on the only family he had left. His stomach churned nervously, but a voice in his head quickly settled that feeling. ' Comfort comes with limitations that need to be broken' the voice said, causing him to smile. A dull pain rang in his chest for a moment, as he closed his eyes and began breathing deeply. Then, as the feeling began to subside just in time for the passenger's side door to open and Mr.Carter to jump into the car. Then, after buckling up, they headed back onto the road. This time they didn't get back on the highway like they always did, instead, they traveled down a road filled with little hills and tight turns. They drove and drove until they arrived in a driveway. A large gate with the letters, C.H.S in the center of a golden circle. On either side of the gate state stone wall which gave the appearance that the gate had sprouted from those walls.

Then, pulling up to a box that looked quite similar to the box in which one would order at when going through a drive through, Mr.Carter lowered his window after pulling the car closer to the device. He then lowered his window and unbuckled his seatbelt before leaning out the window a bit to bunch in a code. Then, as he relax back into his seat, the gates parted and he then proceed onto the campus.
