Sorry that the update wasn't working it's fucked up for some reason.

As soon as the words escape my lips it was like everything froze.

The people in the background blurred and their noises disappeared.

Marcus sat there, on the floor, completely unmoving.

Aiden stopped in his tracks and turned around to face us.

"How did... But you... You were... What?" Marcus stutters.

"Aiden!" A loud feminine voice said from the bottom floor.

Madeline makes her way back up the stairs, standing near Aiden who's eyes were still on me.

"What the hell are you still doing up here?" She asked Aiden before looking for Marcus and finding him on the group. "Marcus what the fuck are you doing?"

When she received no answer she rolled her eyes and turned to me.

She looked in her purse and took out a twenty. She handed it to me and spoke, "Martini."

I raise my brow, my arms clinching around the twenty that she gave me.

When I don't move she gestures to the bar and makes a go motion with her hands.

I slowly back away, Marcus still on the floor in shock and Aiden still looking confused. I return sharply and walk to the bar.

"Hey Blake." I tell the bartender who was mixing a drink.

"Hey, red." He said.

"What?" I asked referring to the nickname.

"Your hair." He said.

"I'm hair's black." I replied. Maybe he was color blind.

"Your roots." He says and pointed at my hair. "I worked in a salon before I worked here. I know dyed hair when I see it."

"Very observant." I tell him with an impressed nod.

"Thank you." He said, "Now what do you want?"

"A martini." I said as I hand him the twenty.

"On it." He said as he started grabbing a bunch of things.

"So," he started, "why'd you dye it?"

"I didn't really like the red." That was a complete lie.

I loved my red hair but it was too memorable. All my family has red hair. Having black hair was just me telling myself that I'm not one of them.

"Really? Being a red head is so rare. If I was a natural redhead I'd never even think about dying it." He said.

"Well I didn't really want to stand out." Lies.

"Well, that's just you, I guess. Here's your martini." He said as he placed it in front of me.

"Thanks." I tell him as I place the drink on a tray and start to make my way back.

I saw Madeline standing near the stairs with Marcus now fully standing up and when I walked closer to them I saw Aiden with a pissed off look on his face.

"Took you look enough." Madeline said as she grabbed the drink and walked down the stairs.

We stood there awkwardly for a minute. Marcus and Aiden both looked super pissed.

"Both of you, upstairs, now." He said as he placed his hands on our backs and pushed us up.

Aiden smiled at a few people as we passed before walking into the office and closing the door behind us, silencing the noises.
