Chapter 22 - Not Sure What To Believe

"Do you remember that psycho that used to go here?" I ask Gou and Chigusa as we walked out of the school "Like, such a loser!" I laughed

"I can't remember." Gou said

"The principal's freak of a daughter." I said with another laugh "The hideous bitch with that awful purple hair. You had to have heard the rumors by now of why she isn't in school anymore."

"What happened?" Chi asked, desperate to be caught up with the gossip

"Well I hear that she killed a guy, right on the street, in cold blood. Now she's on the run from cops and hasn't been home since she stopped coming to school. The principal doesn't believe a word of it but someone says they saw her walking around with a bloody shirt." I said

Chi visibly cringed and Gou's eyes were wide. Both of them went completely pale in fear.

Gou's P.O.V

My eyes went wide realizing that she was talking about Skye. As I mentally panicked I got a text from Rin and checked what it was. The text said that I had to meet him at the hospital but that was all it said.

"I've gotta go. I need to meet my brother." I told them, not wanting to mention the hospital and freak them out "Bye guys."

"Bye" they said as I walked off

I walked to the hospital and immediately saw Rin. He looked like he was about to break down crying but I didn't make him talk about it. He didn't say anything and we just walked in silence to a waiting room. I saw the Iwatobi team in the room with sad and serious faces. We sat down and a few minutes later Seijuro walked in with Momo. No one said a word as they sat. We were all in silence until we hear someone yell from another room.

"You shouldn't be walking yet!!" he screamed

Skye walked out with a nasal cannula and an IV unit.

"Sorry about that. It happens sometimes." she said and smiled at everyone "What were we talking about?"

"There is no way the rumors are true." I whispered to myself, low enough that no one heard

A doctor ran into the waiting room and scolded her.

"I told you that you need to rest." he said in a serious voice "What if you blacked out again. You could get hurt but in a bed there's no risk of causing yourself injury or head trauma."

"You know I'll just get up when your not looking if you make me stay in that stuffy bed." she said

"Why don't you just entertain yourself with the box of books you keep under your bed?" he asked

"I finished them all." she said

"We can get you new-" he said

"No George." she cut him off "I don't like my room. I feel broken when I'm in there." she sighed "It's bad enough I was in and out of hospitals for years, I don't need to live in one."

The doctor sighed and nodded before leaving.

"What happened?" Momo cried while running

"I'm fine." she smiled and hugged him "It literally happens all the time. It's not a big deal."

"How is it not a big deal?!" Rin yelled, angry at her comment "YOUR HEART ALMOST STOPPED BEATING! YOU ALMOST DIED!"

Tears were streaming down his eyes and everyone else was holding back their own tears. She lowered her head.

"It's not like this is the worst thing I deal with." she mumbled

She began to walk off but Haru grabbed her wrist and pulled her into a hug. She looked up at him before closing her eyes and hugging him back. Suddenly her eyes darted open.

"What time is it?" she asked

"A little after three." he said, a bit confused

"Shit. Where's my phone?" she asked more so to herself while searching her pockets

(A/N: she wasn't put into a hospital gown)

"You left it at Samezuka." he said while passing it to her

She quickly dialed someone and put the phone to her ear.

"Hey. Sorry about not texting you or calling." she said "I gotta make sure I'm able to leave but you'll have to pick me up from the hospital instead."

There was a moment of silence while they responded. The phone wasn't on speaker so we couldn't hear anything or figure out who was on the other line.

"Yeah I did." she said with her head down

Another moment of silence.

"I know. I promise I'll start taking them again."

Silence.

"Okay thanks. I'll see you guys soon. How far are you?"

More silence.

"Really? Okay. Well then I guess I'll see you really soon."

She hung up the phone and we all looked at her in confusion.

"I gotta go talk to George." she said and walked back to the room she was in

After a few minutes four people Skye's age walked into the waiting room. Skye walked out shortly after with the oxygen cord and IV removed.

"Okay I'm ready." she said

The albino boy walked up to her and gave her a hug.

"You're sure you're okay?" he asked

"I'm fine." she said while petting his hair

Haru walked up to Skye and snaked an arm around her waist.

"Who's this?" he asked, looking the boy up and down in obvious jealousy

"These are my bandmates." she said to everyone

"Skye!" the girl with neon green hair said happily and ran up to her "You're gonna make such cute babies with him!!"

Skye turned redder than my hair and covered her face with her hands "VIKK SHUT UP!" she screeched in embarrassment

The boy with the brown hair and the girl with the black hair walked up to them "I'm assuming that we gotta pick up your stuff." the girl said

"Yeah. George said I can go but I can't drive just yet so either you or Raven's gotta do it." she said to the white haired boy in front of her

"I can-" the girl apparently named Vikk said excitedly but was cut off

"NO!" Skye and the other three screamed, clearly scared of her driving

"Why not?" she pouted

"Maybe because of what happened in Vegas." Skye said

"Or in Dallas." the brunette added quietly

"Or Miami." the black haired girl, apparently named Raven, added

"Or every time you got behind the wheel." the albino finished

"Those cops were just petty." she said and folded her arms

"You drove through a fucking wall." Skye said "Multiple times."

"They didn't have a drive through so I made one." Vikk defended herself

"You can't do that!" the albino said

"Bullshit. I'm able to do it just fine." she said

"You're not allowed to do that!" he clarified

Skye laughed quietly at their argument then turned to Haru and kissed him "I've gotta go."

Skye and her bandmates left and we all just looked at each other in confusion.
