EPILOGUE

Apologies for the delay in posting the EPILOGUE but I was caught up with my work.

Thank you for encouraging me with your Votes & comments, really means a lot 🙂🙂🙂. Without further ado here's the EPILOGUE.

The screams of Sonakshi along with the wails of the baby reverberated through the Operation theatre as Dev who was holding Sonakshi's hand giving her the strength to bare the pain looked towards the Doctor while Sonakshi calmed down and their he saw the first glimpse of their baby covered with amniotic fluid, blood and vernix as tears formed in both of their eyes while a faint smile played on their lips. The doctor placed the baby on a towel and walked towards them as she said "Congratulations Mr. & Mrs.Dixit it's a boy" as their smile widened while the Doctor forwarded the baby towards Dev whose hands were quaking as he held his son, tears of joy glistening his eyes while Sonakshi looked on, she had played this scene in her mind so many times during her pregnancy but watching it in real brought a fresh set of tears. Dev brought their son towards Sonakshi who was smiling through her tears as Dev muttered in a low voice "Thank You, Sonakshi" as she nodded her head gesturing him not to say so.

Dev handed over the baby to the nurse who took him away to clean him up. As Dev looked back towards Sonakshi she seemed to go into a deep slumber losing her consciousness as Dev panicked and glanced towards the Doctor but before he could say anything the Doctor said "Don't worry Mr.Dixit she's unconscious because of exhaustion. You can please wait outside as we shift your wife and child to the ward" as Dev nodded and left the operation theatre after he kissed Sonakshi's forehead.

As Dev came out of the operation theatre he was surrounded by all the family members who were eager to know about the baby. "Ladka hua hai" he said as a smile spread across everyone's face and a joyous atmosphere set in. Dev hugged Ishwari as both were crying in happiness, they had missed Suhana's birth so this time it was even more joyful for them to witness the arrival of the youngest Dixit member. He was congratulated by everyone just as Golu and Suhana said together "Papa, Bigcha Humey humarey bhai se milna hai" as Dev asked them to wait for some time as their brother was being cleaned up.

Everyone was waiting with bated breath for the Doctor to allow them to meet the baby and Sonakshi. It was late in the night, but sleep was far away from them. It was around Midnight when Sonakshi started having pains and before anyone could realize her water broke. Dev had hurried to the hospital along with Ishwari & Asha while Elena informed Bijoy about the same. Asha had shifted to Ishwari Niwas three months back as both Dev and Ishwari were not ready to let Sonakshi stay at the Bose house which irked Bijoy, but Asha made him understand and decided to shift to Ishwari Niwas until Sonakshi's delivery.

Just then the Doctor came and informed that they could meet both the mother and the baby as everyone hurried towards the ward. Everyone congratulated Sonakshi and Dev while they carried the baby turn by turn inviting comparisons of his features with various family members.

"Waisey Dev bhai aur Sona, aap logon ne iska kuch naam socha hai" it was Elena who asked just as both looked towards each other and smiled.

"Haan Elena, Lekin iska naam hum nahi Maa rakhengi" said Sonakshi as everyone looked towards Ishwari who looked in surprise. "Sonakshi Main, main kaisey?" she said as Sonakshi replied "Kyun nahi Maa, ye toh aapka pota hai toh aapka toh poora haq hai iska naam rakhney ka, Ab jaldi se iss chotey mahashey ka acchha sa naam bataiye, dekhiye ye bhi wait kar raha hai" while Ishwari smiled and looked at her grandson who let out a small smile. Ishwari then looked towards Sonakshi with tears of Joy as she thought back to the past two years, their relationship had come a long way and today they shared the relationship of a mother and daughter. In fact, many times Dev would joke that Ishwari had forgotten him in her love for Sonakshi as the duo would pull his leg. Time had indeed healed their relationship.
