I'm a vampire hunter and he's a vampire...so why am I falling for him?! [Prolouge]

I stepped out of the grey mist and into the dark house. I heard a creak and shifted my eyes over the whole scene. To the regular human eye, it would look normal. But years and years of training have taught me that it is not. I searched the dark spots and saw blood red eyes. Most would cry, scream, runaway, or be frozen but I grabbed my stake and ran for it. It was my "stupid attack" which made them think I was just coming for them. But I was planning something different.

The figure shifted and I grinned. Exactly what I wanted. I turned around and kicked them in the face, not hurting but stunning the evil creature. He hissed and sprinted to the door in shocking speed. I threw the stake at the precise time and it pierced him in the heart. He dropped and his soul escaped, becoming invisible in the air. I yanked the stake from the vampires heart and picked the body up.

This was my job. The job of a vampire hunter. It was dangerous and not for just anyone. You had to be tough and not afraid to kill someone...or something. Vampires are beautiful. They manipulate the dumb humans and trap them for their prey. And that's why I kill them. But not just me, oh no. My whole family is of vampire hunters. We even own the "Hastings Hunters" company. I've trained since I could walk and now killing is natural. It transforms your whole life style...and I guess it's bad to grow up like this but oh well.

Only certain people know of vampires. Like my best friend, Emma Sheckler knows. She also knows that I kill them for a living. She's not bothered but still mostly stays away from this dark world. She knows better. Speaking of, she's calling me know.

"Hey Soph." She said, too loudly for my taste.

"Hey Emma. What's up?"

"Only the hottest guy asked me out!!!" She said and I could tell she was smiling.

"That's great! What's his name?" I asked darkly.

She knew I was always looking out for her. Vampires seem to like her blood and I watch out for her. Especially if they're "hot".

"Tobi! Oh my god he's tall and has the most beautiful eyes..." She said and sighed deeply.

"That's cool I'll have to meet him sometime. Hey uh I got to go. Dad's calling."

"Ok! Bye!!"

I closed my phone and shoved it into my pocket. I know it's rude to lie to her but seriously, I hate it when she rambles on about guys. I don't know what she finds so special about them. I've never had interest. They're just a bunch of unintelligent man whores. I have better things to do. I walked back into the misty forest and headed for home. I notice something flying in the air. It was a piece of paper. I reached for it and gasped.

DAMEN. MOST WANTED.
