Who am I?

*Yet again this is an assignment for school, it is on the topic of identity and belonging if you were wondering*

Who am I?

I’m honest, I don’t often lie.

What else do I see in me?

Determined I am, from problems I never flee.

I’m neither vain nor humble.

I try to be graceful but I frequently stumble.

I’m sociable, not reclusive.

I’m out-going, I love to live.

I’m not judgemental, I welcome all.

No matter how many times they fall.

I’m a leader.

I’m an avid writer and reader.

I’m neither passive nor meek.

I’m not easily influenced or weak.

At the same time not conceited nor ignorant.

No one can tell me I can’t

Of myself I’m almost always sure.

No matter what situation may occur.

I’m eccentric and more than a little crazy.

I don’t like to be idle or lazy.

But that’s just what I see myself to be.

What is it that other’s see?

In their eyes am I a leader?

One thing I know they see me as is an eager reader.

Do they see me as vain?

Do they consider me insane?

Do they believe me to be dumb?

Do they think at them I would my nose, thumb?

Do they think me as fragile?

Do they see me as full of guile?

Do they believe me easily broken?

Do they wonder if my kindness is easily woken?

Do they think as me supportive and loving as I do?

Do they see… Oh phoo!

What does it matter what they see?

They are them and I am me!

For what they think, what do I care?

It’s not my skin they have to wear.

That’s my job.

So they can just shut their gob!
