Elena's Gone

Chapter 36

Just then, we reached the end of the hall and we saw Ruth, Aleister, Clara and Savannah all standing around where Ruth was talking to Aleister said...

"These things I've done, the years of pain, my boy. There's still time, we can unwind it all, I take away all the hurt," Ruth said as she placed her hand on Aleister's face.

"Don't listen to her, she's lying," Clara said.

"Stop this. You were just trying to buy time," Aleister said before slapping Ruth across the face.

After seeing this, Elena and I walked in the room before Clara said...

"Aleister," Clara called before Elena threw him against the wall.

As Elena did this, I rushed to Ruth and quickly picked up her ring and placed it on her finger. I then put her head in my lap and began to try and wake her up.

"Ruth. Ruth wake up," I said to her.

She gave no answer and I continued to hold her while Elena confronted Aleister.

"I will bleed the life from you wolf," Aleister said.

"You're not holding me back. You don't have any power in here, do you?" Elena asked him.

Elena then turned to Savannah and said...

"Savannah. Savannah listen to me, he's controlling you but you're stronger than him," Elena said.

"I am the lock," Aleister said.

"And I'm the key," Savannah said.

"She's gone Elena, drowning in your blood and there is nothing you can do to save her," Aleister said.

Elena then slapped Aleister across the face before beginning to fight him, kicking and punching as she did. I watched this for a while before Clara said...

"The athame here," Clara said, kicking the knife to Aleister.

Elena then stepped forward before Aleister stabbed her, making her fall to the ground.

"Elena!" I yelled before lifting Ruth off from me and placing her back down on the floor.

I then immediately rushed to Elena and began to hold her in my arms.

"In the end you die protecting them and because of them. Their athame, your blood," Aleister said to Elena.

Elena then grabbed Savannah's hand and pulled her down before saying...

"This isn't the end. I'm sorry Savannah but this is the only way," Elena said before taking the knife from her stomach and cutting Savannah's arm.

Elena then took the worm out of her arm and killed it, taking Savannah out of her trance.

"Elena, Kat. What is happening?" Savannah asked.

"Don't let them control you," Elena said to Savannah.

Clara then got up and walked over to Savannah before saying...

"No, we have to go," Clara said, grabbing Savannah's arm.

"No. No, let me go. Stop," Savannah said as Clara took her away with Aleister.

As they did this, I then began to continue to hold Elena in my arms before saying...

"Elena I am so sorry. If I had just done something to help you, you wouldn't be in this position," I said with tears falling down my cheeks.

"No, it's okay. Kat, you have to go after Savannah. Stop Aleister, I know you can do it," Elena said.

"No. No I'm not leaving you. I promised you that I wouldn't let you die and I'm so sorry that this is happening. You mean so much to me Elena. You are like my sister, you have always been there for me after everything that I have been through. You are the only person in the whole world that has ever understood me. You're more than my best friend, you are my family," I explained.

"You are my sister too," Elena said.

All of a sudden, I heard Clay come in...

"Elena," Clay called before running over to us.

I then let Clay hold her in his arms while I stayed by his side.

"Elena. You hang on okay?, I'm going to get you out of here," Clay said with tears in his eyes.

"Go to him. There's no time," Elena said.

"I'm not leaving you," Clay said, beginning to cry.

I continued to cry, seeing this before Elena said...

"I love you so much," Elena said to him.

Just then, it looked like Elena was about to die before I said...

"Elena," I said, seeing her getting ready to close her eyes.

Suddenly, Elena's eyes stopped moving and Clay said...

"Elena, say something. Say something," Clay said.

Clay then began to hold Elena in his arms before crying out to her. I did the same as I realized that the two closest people to Elena had watched her die.

Moments later, Ruth awoke before Clay said...

"I'm so sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't get to you darling," Clay said to Elena.

"Mother," I heard Paige say to Ruth as she sat down with her.

They then began to hold each other before Clay put Elena's body down and began to arise.

"Clay," I said.

"Where is he?, where's Aleister?" Clay asked.

"He's taken Savannah deep into the catacombs," Ruth answered.

"That's where I'll kill him," Clay said as he took his jacket off.

"Are you going to change?" I asked.

"There's no reason for me to stay human anymore," Clay said before taking his shirt off and walking out of the room.

I then continued to sit by Elena, holding her close and realizing that I had lost my best friend and my closest thing to a sister forever...
