She desperately wishes her parents were together again. She feels that it wasn't fair for an outside party to decide when their relationship ended and all she wants is to have that family unit with her biological parents.
Because of this, she never really bonded with her step-mother as a child. To her, she was just some lady who lived with them for a while.
