Prologue
Fairy tales are just what they seem. They are literally made-up stories written to entertain small children. I never liked fairy tales. But then again, I was never a normal child. Another large dilemma was that love always was a difficult concept for me to grasp. If you've never noticed before, most fairy tales involve love.
I don't major in love stories. I don't major in love at all actually. My parents never showed affection towards each other. Come to think of it, they never showed affection to me either. Sure, there were the "I love you's", but a child with my brilliant mind--even if I was nearing seven--could figure out that they were feigning their feelings. Their lifeless eyes showed quite an amount of selfishness and never any selflessness.
It was hard to be in a world full of love, but not know any.
So, no. I do not pride myself on being an expert in love, mainly because I am not one. I suppose I don't even know what love means. The dictionary says it's a feeling of personal attachment to someone/something. And I know what love looks like--snogging, hugging, dating, betrothal.
I never remember loving anyone in my seventeen years of life. But I don't believe it to be sad. I believe it to be inhuman. Love has (and probably always will be) a part of human nature. And I'm not an expert in human nature either.
I may sound absoutely insane, but insanity is actually one of my very few fortes, along with deducing and experimenting. But I suppose you think love is far more interesting than how many different types of ash there are. Most people do. It's tedious. And I suppose that's what you came looking for--love.
As you begin, keep in mind that this isn't just any ordinary love story. Of course, it has the basic plot of two people thinking each other attractive and admiring each other's disposition. But for God's sakes, it is not ordinary.
It's a fairy tale.
~~So I have decided to take on the task of a Teen!lock. I have some big ideas for it. First, I want to say that the characters solely belong to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the BBC. Sherlock and John will be based off of both of those writers. Second, this is dedicated to meglet713 for drawing me a WONDERFUL cover. She's a marvelous person, writer, and artist. So please go follow her!!! Until the next chapter! -Kam <3~~
