The next day was a bit longer, Stephanie had so many errands to run today. Groceries, leotard dry cleaning, buying a new car to get around town. Times like these made her wish that she was still a kid. Being a grown up wasn't always fun.
Violet tagged a long complaining a little here and there, "Mommy. We need to get to class soon." she told her mom. Stephanie was just glad that she complained that she wasn't in class instead of complaining that she wanted out. It made her smile, "Okay, hun. Lets go. All the work is done."
Violet took the keys from her mom and ran to the car in the parking lot, "Be careful!" she said over the wall of groceries that hid her face. Violet opened the door and helped her put the bags in the trunk. "Thank you baby, just don't run into the parking lot like that, you might have gotten hit."
Violet looked about, "There isn't a lot of cars here anyway." she shrugged. Stephanie shook her head, "Get in Vivi."
She hopped in the car giving her mom the keys and they drove back to the studio, once again Violet shot out of the car and into the building, "Violet! Your leotard!" she said as she took it out of the car.
"Oops." she ran back out and took it. "Thank you." she smiled up at her mother.
"Yeah, yeah go in there and warm up you Ultraviolet lightning bolt." she teased.
It was to be expected what with Stephanie's spunk and Sportacus' energy would make a potent mix in a child her age. It still amazed her at how much of Sportacus she had in her, endless energy and determination made her a great athlete and dancer.
Steph walked in and watched as Violet did her exercises in the mirror. She waited for the other kids to get here, sitting down on a nearby chair.
Zig and Ronan came into the classroom, "Well, hey there you two. I didn't expect you to visit."
"Yeah, Ronan wanted to check this place out so badly." Zig said clasping his son's shoulders in front of him.
"Well, we don't just offer ballet. There's acrobatics and other dances as well."
"Good, what will it be, Ro?" Zig looked down at Ronan who couldn't keep his eyes off of Violet. "Ronan?"
"Huh?" he finally came to. Stephanie snickered at the boy, seeing him blush as if he were caught.
"What class do you want to take?"
Ronan looked at the hanging aerial silks and acrobatic ring that came from the ceiling, "What about that?" he pointed to the trapeze.
"you sure you don't want to try something a little more easier?" he asked his son. Ronan shook his head.
"I want to be an acrobat."
Steph laughed at such a cute reply, "Your boy has ambition, I can tell you that."
"How much per class?" he asked.
"Just pay when you can, anything for my brother."
"Thanks, Stephanie. He really wants to be involved in something."
"And I'm happy to teach him at any time, Violet is actually better than I am on the silks. She might teach him a few things."
"Awesome, did you hear that Ro?" he asked. Ronan only nodded and joined Violet on the floor. Zig sat next to his sister, "Have you told him yet?"
"I was so close last night."
"Yeah, its kind of hard to kill the ADHD in Spo. You do have to tell him some time."
"Oh, I will. Violet is one of the reasons I moved back here, she was starting to get curious about her dad."
"Oh?"
"Yeah. So, I have no choice in the matter now. She deserves to know who her father is."
"I agree. Ronan should know his mother but since she wants nothing to do with him..."
"Ziggy, you will find some one else."
"I hope so."
"Uh.. I know so. Can I say something un sisterly?"
Ziggy laughed, "Might as well."
"Oh my God, your gorgeous. Seriously, Ziggy. You will find another chick out there that will-"
"Okay, okay. I get it. Stick with the sister thing."
"Hahaa! Okay fine. I merely did it to prove a point." she smiled. Zig laughed too, "I know."Violet stopped dancing and looked at Ronan, "Hi."
"Hello." he said Shyly.
"Are you here for class?"
"Yeah, I'm going to go on that." he pointed to the ring up above.
"Oh, wow." Violet said. "You're very brave."
"Can you teach me how?"
"I can, but I will have to ask mom to lower the ring." Violet ran to her mom and Zig, "Mom, can we use the ring?"
"Yeah, sure baby." Stephanie got up and flipped the switch to lower two practice rings down, just a few inches off the floor. "When did we get two?"
"Surprise." Stephanie walked back to continue with Zig and Violet started to teach Ronan.
"Okay for now, lets just sit in it like a swing." Violet hoisted herself onto the swing and gripped the hoop with both hands on the top, "This is where you grip it. There are three different ways to hold on and they need to be exact or you will fall."
"Okay." Ronan copied her movements as she carried on teaching him. Ronan was a fast learner, it wasn't long until he learned how to do the tuck mount.
"Good job."
"Hey guys how are you?" Sportacus jumped in and seen Violet and Ronan practicing.
"Wow. You are very talented."
Violet turned around to see Spo, "Sportacus!" she jumped off the hoop and gave him a big hug. Ziggy gave Stephanie a knowing look, "Bonding already I see." he commented.
"I know. Violet doesn't do that to people she just met." Stephanie looked down at the floor and then back up at Spo. "Good luck sis." Ziggy told her.
"I'm going to need it." she approached the both of them, "Hey, Sportacus." she faked a smile for him.
"Hey, there." Spo read the distraught look on her face, "Do we need to talk?" he asked and she nodded. Violet went back to teaching Ronan and Both Sportacus and Steph left the room, "What is it this time, Stephanie?" he asked a bit worried.
"There is no easy way to tell you this..."
"There is always a way."
"But none of them easy."
Spo sat her down, "Tell me in the best way you can."
"Okay..." Steph couldn't bring herself to say anything. Why was this so hard? He loved her and she loved him, "When I left for New York, I didn't know I was going to become a mother..."
"Not many things go according to plan, Steph. Its okay. Violet is a sweetheart."
"Well, Violet wanted to meet her father for a long while now. She's been asking about him. I thought it would be easier for me to show her..."
"That sounds like a good idea." he smiled.
"So, I came back to Lazy Town to tell him about her but I do not know how he will react."
"Well, if he is a good man he will accept her with open arms." Sportacus sounded like he was catching on to her hints.
"Thanks Sportacus."
"Who is the father?" he asked. Really?!
Stephanie did all she could to keep her mouth from dropping to the floor, "Sportacus, I want you to listen to me carefully..."
"Okay." he replied. Stephanie took a deep breath and looked at him in the eyes, "I have to confess something... We have a, uhh..."
"Come on tell me."
"We have a daughter, Her name is Violet. I'm sure you already knew that." she started to fret, not paying attention to the amount of shock upon his face.
"This isn't how I pictured telling you and I am so sorry for keeping her a secret until now. Its really hard to get a hold of Lazy Town because of the long distance and I really wanted to show you instead of tell you. I completely understand if you don't want to be a part of our lives because of how long I kept this from you.
Vivi and I have gone on just fine but she wants a dad and she keeps asking me...I'm really sorry Spo. I should've told you the minute I found out. I was just so afraid-"
"For goodness sakes, Stephanie. Breathe." Sportacus clasped her shoulders and looked into her eyes, "Why on earth would you be afraid to tell me something as joyous as this?" he asked her.
"you're not angry with me?"
"Why would I ever be angry. I have a child." he gave her a big wide smile. "This is the best news I have ever heard in my life." Stephanie sighed out a breath and started to cry, covering her face.
"Oh, Stephanie." he kissed her forehead. "Why are you crying?" he asked, taking her hands from her face.
"All of this worrying for absolutely nothing."
Sportacus laughed, "That is what a mother does, dear." he hugged her and she folded perfectly in his arms.
"All of those years raising Violet by yourself. You don't have to do it alone anymore." he wiped her tears away and gently kissed her on the lips, "You have done a magnificent job though." he smiled. Stephanie let go of his embrace and wiped off her face, "I'm just not sure how to tell Violet yet. I thought maybe tell her on her birthday."
"When is her birthday?"
"June tenth. it's a few weeks away, she'll be nine years old." Stephanie looked up at him and he nodded.
"That will give me time to get to know her."
"Good, good. We'll figure that out together I guess."
"Yes, we will." Sportacus led her back into the class room where Violet was now showing off her skills at the aerial hoop.
"Wow. You taught her that?" he asked.
"Well, not all of it. I only know a little. A friend of mine taught her how. She has her own studio for circus acts."
"I see. She is very talented." he turned to her. "We made a beautiful kid."
"We did."
