"I've already told you a hundred times that this case isn't for me." Chris told Mr. Kawasaki who didn't seem interested in what Chris had to say. It was about 4 a.m. and he wanted to go home now.
"Listen young man, you're the best man I have and I'm not giving such an important case to anyone else." He replied with a bored expression."Me? The best man? Sir, I've been searching for him for over an year now and the only thing I know about him is his fake name." Chris sat on the chair and rested his head on his palm.
"And I am sure no one else would have gotten this little piece of information even after years of searching." The old man smiled ."Sir, but this looks like a dead end to me. I have no idea about anything. What should I do? Where should I go next?" He sighed.
"Are my ears functioning well? Is it really the great Christopher Shaw thinking of giving up?" Mr. Kawasaki replied in a mocking tone. He was right. Chris wasn't the type of person who would give up so easily."It isn't about giving up. Sir, I have a family. They need me and I just can't wander aimlessly around. This isn't helping anyone." He yawned which made Mr. Kawasaki yawn too.
"I recommended you to not start a family before but anyways you know that your family will be all right. And this wandering isn't aimless. This guy isn't our regular criminal. He has probably murdered more people than the number of hair on your head. We have to stop him. You have to stop him." The old man said and picked up his bag.
"Christopher, it's late. You should go home and get some rest. I need to do the same and I'll drop you if you want me to." Chris agreed to Mr. Kawasaki's offer and the ride back home was quieter than usual.
He quietly opened his room and saw his boy and wife sleeping on the bed. The kid was smiling in his sleep and seeing his smile made Chris smile too. He quietly changed his clothes and started going through the documents he had received today. These were the records of the call made by a number that was used by the fake name of the criminal he was searching.
Lindsborg. The phone had been active most of the time there and this was going to be his next stop.
Maybe I'll get a lead on him when I'll go there, he thought as he slid into his bed and next to his wife.

"Where are you going?" He asked rubbing his eyes and was still in his bed.
Clair threw him a glance. Even with bed hair and a stubble worth five days, he still managed to look handsome.
She shook her head. This pregnancy thing was going to her head."Just going around the town. I'll be back in less than an hour." She replied while going back on perfecting her makeup.
"Without breakfast? Are you serious?" He spoke in that sleepy husky voice.
"Yes. You can go back to sleep, Misha. It's a little early. The baby didn't let me sleep so I'm going to stroll for a bit. Good night." She smiled at him and left the room before he could say something.Misha didn't feel all that good about Clair leaving him so early in the morning. She hadn't done anything like this before and he was concerned about her.
I can follow her, just to make sure she is safe, he thought.
Or maybe not. She won't like him being too overprotective. They already had a fight last week because he was skipping work for her and he didn't want her to feel weird about their relationship anymore.
Maybe I'll just get ready and buy breakfast for her and then wait. Yeah, that sounds good. He slowly got up from his bed and slid into the shower.
