Everyone was rushing around her. There were people calling frantically at each other. Her eyes couldn't seem to focus at any point."M-my baby." She tried to say but it came out more as a choke.
"We'll do everything to save it," a nurse said while holding a needle, "you just need to calm down."
She felt a slight pinch in her forearm and before she could say anything else she slipped into unconsciousness.

She tried to open her eyes but they seemed to be glued together. It felt as if her body had stopped working. She wanted to scream but even her mouth was not cooperating with her brain.
She then heard a very familiar voice. Misha's voice.
Her heart started to beat faster when she figured out what she was saying."Please wake up Clair, please. The baby needs you. I need you."
His voice was shaking. She could tell that he was about to cry. And he had said something about her baby. She had to wake up now.
Trying hard one last time she finally opened her eyes.
She blinked a few times to adjust to the blinding light and as soon as she did so, she immediately placed a hand on her stomach.
Tears leaked out of her eyes as she was already assuming the worst.A hand gently brushed away the tears and whispered soothing words in her ear.
When she was calm enough to talk, she asked the only thing that mattered to her at that moment.
"Is my baby dead?" Her voice came out broken.
"Dead? No Clair, your boy is a fighter. He would've never left his mother like this." Misha told her softly.Clair gave a sigh. She felt like crying and laughing at the same time. She knew that she was looking like a maniac but she didn't care right now.
"Where is he?" She asked.
"I'll ask the nurse to bring him in." He said while getting up from his seat.Clair didn't know how much time passed but finally Misha came inside with a nurse holding the baby in a blanket. It was her baby. Her eyes immediately filled with tears.
"Congratulations, Miss Clair. Here's your boy." The nurse said while gently placing the baby in her awaiting arms.
Her face was practically glowing by looking at her baby. He had soft pale skin and was kinda weak but Clair didn't mind it. After all he was a premature baby.
Clair gently rubbed his cheeks and placed a kiss in his forehead. Warming up to his mother's touch, the baby gave out a small sigh and held her finger with his tiny hands.
Misha was seeing the whole scene with awe filled eyes. Finally, he cleared his throat and came to sit next to her in the bed.
"What would you like to name him?" He asked while playing with the baby's hair.
"I just want his name to be associated with yours." She said with a small smile.
"Wow! That would be cool. Finally, I'll have someone to carry on my legacy." Misha wiped his invisible tears
Clair laughed at the living soap opera in front of her and muttered a 'thank you' which Misha deliberately ignored.
"So what would be the name? What kind of name could be associated with my name?" He rubbed his jaw as in deep thought and raised his one eyebrow when Clair didn't answer his question.
"What? You think I'll just tell you the name? Not today." She stuck out her tongue at him. The girl had learned a lot from him in these few months they had spent together.
"Whatever." Misha rolled his eyes and they both laughed and talked about the baby.
