*THREE YEARS LATER*
"Hollie! Get ready sweetie mommy, and daddy have some great news for you!" I hear my mother's honey laced voice ring throughout the whole house. I rub my sleep crusted eyes and stretch my limbs out while kicking the blanket off of my body. I smack my lips and lazily sit up. I run my hand through my hair, struggling through mostly because of the majority of tangles and knots my hair has.
I must've been rolling around when I was sleeping. I thought. I roll off of my bed, stand on my two sleepy feet and walk towards my door. I fiddle with the door knob and get it open. I stretch a bit more while walking down the hallway towards the bathroom that I have to share with my siblings. Hazel and Liam are my siblings. Hazel is two years older then me who is just full of trouble. She is sopposed to be in college but she keeps telling me that she can't figure out what to do with her life.
Liam is my adopted brother from England and he resembles us so much that it sometimes freaks me out. This year Liam and I are juniors at Brighton High School in Idaho.
I wasn't paying no attention when I realized that I ran into a wall. "Ow," I pout while rubbing my forehead lightly with my hand. I look around and mentally slap myself when I find myself having blurred vison. I forgot to put on my glasses! I throw my head back and groan. I then squint around slowly looking for the door the leads into the hall bathroom.
I finally get to the bathroom and flail my hands around trying to find my glasses' case. My hands touch the counters, the sink, the mirror and the towels but, no glasses' case. "Ugh." I groan. What the... Where are my glasses? I swear I put them right next the sink in the corner of the counter. I feel that mental image that I have planted in my mind but its just not there. I feel like I've gone mad. I really hate not having contacts like I did three years ago but since my parents dont want to pay for them anymore they had me choose a pair of glasses that would suit my style.
I decided for my glasses to get the nerd style glasses. I really liked how the frame really brought out my blue ey- wait I need to find them first. "Hey Bea. Looking for these?" the oh so familiar nickname that my foreign brother gave to me rung throughout my ears. I turn to face him but all I can make out is a blurry version of Liam. "Li what do you have?" I ask and I can see the outline of his smile through the bluriness.
"Well. I found your glasses in my room so I am returning, " he opens up my hand, then places the case onto it. "It to its rightful owner," I roll my eyes then pop open my case to grab the bridge of my glasses. I go to the arms of the glasses, unfold them, and place them on my face. I look into the mirror while adjusting them a little bit, then smirk at my appearance. Even though I have to wear this contraption on my face, I still look good.
"Now Bea get your shower before Hazel wakes up. You know how she is," he winks at me and walks away. I smile while closing the door. Liam is such a great brother even though he isn't biological to this family. He is the sweetest, smartest guy I have ever known. I go over towards the shower, brush away the curtain, and turn the lever so warm water falls from the over-head faucet. I strip off all my clothes and step into the shower with my glasses still on.
How am I sopposed to take a shower without seeing anything? They fog up and have splotches of water drops on them once I completely engulf my body in the warm water. I can still see through the fog and water drops.
I grab my soap, open the container and squeeze some of the cream colored gel onto my hand. I place the shampoo back onto the wire basket that we have attached to the side of the shower. I rub the substance between my hands and lather it into my hair. "HOLLIE GET OUT!" I hear my sister's voice yell from the other side of the door. I roll my eyes, ignore her and continue on with my shower.
