There's a first for everything

After seeing Cheryl at the river Betty realised that she had to go home ready for tonight. But before she started getting ready she knew that she had to phone somebody

ON THE PHONE:

B: dad?
H: yes Betty...
B: I just wanted to let you know that I'm going on this date
H: is that what you want?
B: yes
H: you have my approval only if you and Jughead come over for dinner some time
B: really?
H: yes, Cheryl talked some sense into me and so did Penelope
B: thank you!
H: just don't make any stupid mistakes
B: I won't I promise
H: have fun Betts

Betty put the phone down, she heard a knock at the door. She runs downstairs. "You didn't think I was going to let you get changed for your first date on your own did you?!" Veronica walks in and starts to head upstairs. "What are you wearing?" she asked putting her hand bag down "I was just going to wear jeans and a jumper we're going to the Drive-In it's going to be cold" Veronica picks up her phone "Betty the weather forecast says that it is going to be 22 degrees at the minimum tonight you are not going in jeans and a jumper!" Betty rolls her eyes "you're going to look stunning" she sits Betty down at her vanity "nothing heavy V I want to feel like myself", "don't you worry Cooper I know you better than you think I do!" They giggle. By the time that Betty is ready she feels like herself, in her own clothes and her makeup natural but with a little extra eye shadow. "Thank you so much V!" Betty looks at herself in the mirror "The artist is only as good as their canvas, I'm going to get going your date will be here soon...". The butterflies suddenly hit Betty's stomach, what if it doesn't work out? What if she says something stupid? "Calm Betty, everything will be fine, your mum's downstairs" Veronica hugs her and then leaves.

Betty walks downstairs, "Betty you look gorgeous!" "thanks mum" Alice hugs Betty "be home by 11 at the latest, text me if it is going to be any later please" "I will mum". There's a knock at the door, Betty puts on her jacket, she shuts the door.

"Hi", they smile "you look amazing Betty" she blushes "you don't look to bad yourself" They laugh "shall we get going?" "yes"

When they get to the Drive-In they set up the truck and lay down, the butterflies still in Betty's stomach. "I'm going to get some popcorn, I'll be back in a sec", "okay". Once Jughead is gone Betty texts Veronica

B: what do I say?

V: just talk about something fun get the conversation going

B: okay thanks

"I got salted" "thank you!" he gets onto the back of the truck "the movie should be starting any minute", she lays her head on his shoulder as the movie started Betty and Jughead spoke more. "I can't believe we're going to University together!" "neither can I Betts" she sits up "I actually can't wait to experience what it is like, I feel as though movies give a false perspective" "I'll agree with you on that because I haven't watched many University based movies recently" she lies her head on his stomach, "has Jughead Jones been working out?!" she pokes his stomach "I'm with Archie all the time I have to do something and it is part of my physio to do at least one more session of exercise a week" she rolls her eyes at him "sure" she lays back down beside him watching the movie feeling his body against hers, it sent shivers all over her body.

As the movie ended Jughead and Betty lay looking up at the stars "that movie was beautiful Jug" she looked over at him looking at the stars with a smile on his face, he turns to look at her "not as beautiful as you", he saw the brightest smile form on her face as she looked down. "Why did you choose me Jug, you could've chosen anybody?" she looks at him with a slight look of worry, "because you were the one who sat by my bed when they thought I was going to die, you were the girl who took me in when I didn't have a safe home to go to, you were the person who slept by my side so that I felt safe, you have been by my side my whole life making sure that I'm happy and safe but now I always want to be that person for you" he takes a deep breath and smiles "because it's always been you Betty" they sat up as they looked at each other, she looks into his eyes "Jug..." he kisses her gently, the gentle brush of his lips on hers sent sparks running round her body. They smile at each other she bites her lip as the nerves build back up inside of her "was that true?" "no, I said that all for a laugh" she giggles and then bits down on her lip again, she kisses him again this time more passionately Betty holds onto his face and smooths away the curls covering his eyes, when they finally pull away Jughead whispers into her ear "you were worth the wait Betty..." she grins while rolling her eyes.

Jughead drives Betty to her house and stops outside "Jug?" "yeah" he turns to face her "I want to take us slow, not rush into anything..." "I agree Betts I don't want to mess this up either" she kisses him quickly and runs inside.

"You don't have to tell me what happened on your date Betty but all I need to know is if you are dating Jughead?" Alice asks as Betty dreamily walks into the kitchen "yes I am" Betty starts to back away so that she can go upstairs "you may go and fill Veronica in on every detail of your date now Betty" "thank you" she runs upstairs to her room and lays down on her bed, before she phones Veronica she writes down what happened in her diary so that she could remember this day for the rest of her life.

So there it is my first Bughead kiss! Sorry if it wasn't what a first date was like I don't know but I hope it was cute and liked some of the lines I used.
